I'm not seeing the P197 18V ONE+ 4.0 Ah High Capacity Battery with this deal.

Driving screws, cutting wood. Turns out there is more than one tool brand on earth that can do these exceptionally simple tasks. Or can you look at a screw and just TELL that it was a Ryobi driver?

...go with the brushless, it should last longer
LOL. This is such nonsense. The brushed tools will likely out last most people reading this, and probably their children too.

I really could use a couple of new batteries. It seems I'd end up spending close to the package price just to get the batteries. Thoughts?I don't really need the charger. the cordless multi tool might be nice but I already have a corded Bosch.

10 years ago I'd agree with you but anymore Ryobi, Hart, Kobalt, etc. are more than good enough for DIY'ers.

I recently sold most of my Dewalt 20v tools and switched to Metabo, mostly cause I got some really good clearance deals on their tools (cordless framing nailer, finish nailer, hammer drills, etc.) from Lowe's and they tend to run better deals on Metabo.

I also have some Ryobi and Hart stuff. Ryobi has an excellent selection of tools. I bought some on the Direct Tools deal and have been happy with them. I also got a bunch of Hart stuff from walmart cause they clearance that stuff regularly too. 20v hand vacs, shop vacs, LED lights, inverter, USB chargers, stuff that's handy to have around the house for typical home use.

Point is, tools have their purpose. Ryobi is great for homeowner's and fine for contractor's that may only sparingly use a particular tool. Dewalt, Milwaukee, Metabo, Ridgid, Flex, etc all have their purpose as tools that are built to be used daily. Give it a rest.

Not a terrible deal, but nothing like the Discount Tool Outlet deal for 10 tools plus batteries from a month or so ago.

if tempted by the walmart hart five-tool (really three-tool), strongly consider this six-tool (really five-tool) with $30 of 4ah battery thrown in.

Only a 5 1/2" circular saw. But I guess big enough to cut a 2x4

In that case, the 2 batteries plus a free tool for $99 is probably a better deal for you.

I did not see this one, good deal indeed! The freebie was added on many deals including the 8 tools one.

You can always sell off what you don't need. I sold my extra charger, one of the 1.5h batteries, and the duplicate reciprocal saw as a package on CL. The tools and batteries I'm left with from pervious deals are just about perfect.

In for one of the Ryobi sets, 10% Veterans discount is nice.
