This or the 14" version with battery/charger for 219 for general users work and cutting up branches? I have a 5A and two 2.5A batteries already.
I've used the 14" quite a few times and it worked great. if you use the 5a it will start getting heavy after a while.
Be sure you get some chainsaw oil.
Not too long ago I sold it and got the 18" for around $150 at lowes on a sale that they had. I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

If you are cutting up smaller stuff, the 14" works fine. The 18" has a faster chain speed and metal spikes instead of plastic ones on the 14", and is great for bigger stuff, but it's also heavier and more of a pain to lug around. I own both but find myself reaching for the 14" most of the time. A good compromise might be their new 16" if you can find a good deal on it since it has the chain speed of the 18" but its significantly lighter.

I did just that. I bought from your post of the 16" with battery. Think the 16" is a nice compromise and with a bit of room to grow.

Actually the 16" & 14" are the same saw except for the bar and chain. The 18" has significantly more power. I own the 16" & 18".

Correct, with the original 16". The revamped one got boosted to 20m/s like the 18", and has an all new body as well. CS1611 (vice 1604) is the new one I believe.

I stand corrected. Didn't know they came out with a new 16" model.
