Have this, but I don't really recommend. Battery takes forever to charge. It actaully isn't as light as most reviews make it, but I guess at the size of a 15.6" laptop its as light as it gets. Power brick is huge. Just wanted to share my experience https://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima...lies/smile.gif Oh and you have to download a sketchy program to change the lighting of the keyboard and other settings.
it's way lighter then a macbook pro lol..

if youre comparing it to the new ones, yes. But this is absolutely heavier than the macbook pros from just a few years ago.

So I got one yesterday. It was packed well and appears to have a lot of plastic covering almost everything (except the bottom panel, everything seems to have protective sheets of plastic on it). Did others receive similarly covered laptops?

The only real downside is the keyboard - basically, if you type with force, it seems fine, but otherwise, key presses do not seem to register well - but it seems...designed that way?

I did all of the updates, but am missing the control center for all of the keyboard lighting etc. I tried to install the XMG Control Center, and it seems to have enabled the lights, but then would not come up so I could configure anything.

Does anyone have the location of the Intel control Center?

I still have to install games to test out video card etc.

Also, the fans will sound like jet engines when they spin up - the BIOS update sounded like the laptop was angry at the world.

I'm in. Jarrod's review on it was highly motivated me (https://youtu.be/yPnk6HUpQrs).
I barely use laptop keyboard. Liked its VRAM capacity (8 GB) & cooling design (4 heat pipes/4 ventilation holes). Only concern is fan noise. Let me try undervolting/cooling pad when I receive it.

I bit on this laptop and regret it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/XMG_gg/c..._includes/

I did get one where the battery was completely replaced, but the BIOS reported back that the voltage was low. The only reason I checked was the laptop hard powered off involuntarily at 30% and once at 50% which were devastating drops as I had unsaved work. The keyboard really sucks, I mean, it's unusable as it doesn't recognize even moderately fast typing.

Got mine yesterday. As soon as I receive it, I put extra 8GB ram and installed Windows 10 then followed a bunch of driver installations (https://www.eluktronics.com/mag-15-drivers/) [eluktronics.com]

Then I put some time to tune GPU/CPU and finally got amazing benchmark results (Timespy 7788 Graphic 8055 CPU 6557). The graphic score is similar to 3060 105W listed on laptopmedia.
Yeah, there are downsides of course. The keyboard is horrible, USB C charging is missing. But, except that, I love its weight, TB3, 8GB VRAM, GPU performance. Noise is also okay than what I experienced with GF65 thin & Dell 5511. I think I'll stick to this one.

You mind sharing your tuning specs?

NP, but bit complicated. First, need to lower CPU temp - go to bios then increase undervolt from 50 mV to 140 mV (Recommended from https://youtu.be/yPnk6HUpQrs). Second, need to undervolt GPU - install MSI afterburner then set gpu clock as 1700 MHz at 800 mV (Recommended from https://youtu.be/v7I9OuOmXZY). Third, need to unlimit max GPU temp 75c - install ASUS GPU tweak 2 then set GPU temp limit to 87c.

From my experience, even when we unlimit max GPU temp 75c, laptop barely hit above 75c. But it can prevent perf degradation near 74c, so it will be helpful at most cases.

This is now showing as $799 on eBay. Any word of this is expected to drop back to $649? If so I would definitely pull the trigger.
