I recently purchased a $55 range finder on Amazon, and it works great, accurate, fast. So then I ask, what's the point of spending more than that on something that does the same exact thing? I understand the really high end range finders that read within +- .1 yd, but that's only if you're shooting 80 and below I feel.

I did the same and it worked well for about a year until it lost sensitivity (?) and now it has a hard time picking up smaller items (like flags). I'm taking advantage of this offer to take advantage of Costco warranty benefits.

I bought this rangefinder last year for this price after my son helped himself to my Bushnell.

It's well worth $99, but it sometimes has trouble giving an accurate reading the first time. You can get three different yardages in three consecutive attempts. I don't mind becaus those yardages are usually within one or two yards of each other, and I'm not good enough to care about being a yard or two off.

I shoot 25% in the 70s and I use a $55 range finder. Never complained about the range finder, but complained plenty times about my swing.

Build quality, quality of lens/glass (clarity especially overtime), another user mentioned sensitivity loss which happens over time. I use to use a cheap Amazon one but it felt like junk and wasn't super accurate or easy to pinpoint. Ended up buying an older used higher end Leupold one for just a bit more than the crap Amazon ones, blows it out of the water.

If I played more I would def invest in a higher end one with good glass. Will keep using this one till it craps out but the cheap ones will not hold up too long. It's one of those buy nice or buy twice kind of things.
