Great price but I am not a fan of this flavor/roast. I like the crema ones a lot better. But if this flavor speaks to you, price is worth it.

i've blended these (lavazza) beans with starbucks french roast beans in 50-50 ratio to resolve the issue you mention with good results for espresso.

I bought this last time it was on sale. It was close to the expiration date and the coffee flavor was terrible.

Got this one last time it was on sale and still trying to get done with it. Espresso shots are not as smooth as crema and is more on the bitter side. For comparison kicking horse medium roast is smoother and easy on palette.

I thought espresso was pretty much always a dark roast?

Had the same experience with this one. I had a way better time with one of the sites that ships freshly roasted beans

The Crema E Aroma was $15 and change on S&S for me. Reviews are good, except for the rocks! Yikes.
unfortunately i can confirm the rocks. I didn't believe it until there was a rock in my Jura grinder. I stopped buying it after that.

Same, definitely not a great espresso maker. Specifically I think due to being medium roast the band for getting a good balanced espresso out of this is small.

I did manage to find a good recipe of it, but took me half the bag to do it and was difficult to repeat. Needed a very fine grind and very accurate on the extraction weight, like within half a gram. And even then the flavor was good but not anything special.

I got it at Costco for around this price per weight I think, in a 3lb bag. (nm it was 1kg like this one, mixed up the weight with other costco coffee)

Where's the guy talking about rocks in with his beans? Must be his day off.
i got rocks twice in Crema E Aroma in my last bag. Thankfully they didn't break the grinder but freaked me out. I stopped buying it after than. You could hear the screeching sound as the rocks were going through.

Lavazza coffee isn't great. Cheap, yes. But not good at all. Bought once, never again.

Me 2.
Haven't seen "crema ones" on good sale for a while already.
Used to be few sales in spring prev. years...
Yeah, Costco in Canada has a 1kg bag of the crema and aroma for 16.50 (Canadian), glad they at least carry it

Espresso is very sensitive to extraction, darker roasts basically burn off so much of the flavors that there aren't any bitter or sour flavors left. Easier to make a decent espresso out of, but not as good. Lighter roasts generally have more character in flavors but the lighter they are the harder it is to avoid the bad flavors (bitter and sour). So it depends on how much money you want to spend on equipment and how hard you want to work for it. It's honestly a very diminishing returns situation, to get slightly better espresso and flavor starts off at hundreds of dollars and quickly scales into thousands. It's a bit of an addictive hobby chasing those really tasty espresso shots though.

Are the rocks black? Guess I'm going to start sifting the beans.. Maybe costco buys the rock-free variety 😂

I concur 100%. It was worse than expired hotel coffee.

I've never had this before, so I'll try it out. I plan on using it in the aeropress with prismo attachment. Anyone else make this roast like that?
