LG OLED evo sets a new standard for display. The next-generation OLED panel, combined with the computational power of the Alpha 9 Gen 4 processor, takes your viewing experience to another level. The redesigned panel includes an extra layer and a more emissive material. These optimize the structure and refine the wavelengths to increase the efficiency of light while the Alpha 9 Gen 4 processor uniquely tunes the picture on the new panel to enhance everything you watch. The result is a brighter*, sharper image and the ultimate viewing experience.

Thanks for the heads up about the warranty! I just bought a G1 65" open box excellent for $1,291.99 plus tax!
I also got the 2 year Geek Squad warranty but I'm going to have them remove it since LG covers 5 years. It appears parts and labor are included in year 1 and then only parts included for years 2 through 5. Still a slick deal!
Open box prices on the G1 series were all lowered as well. They're cheaper than the C1 series now at all the stores near me today.

Only thing to keep in mind is that it's only the panel for years 2-5, which is meant to address burn in concerns. So if there's any other issues (power, main board etc), that would not be covered years 2-5.

Thanks for the info! I've had a B6 since it came out and also have a C9. I've never had any issues with either. I'll save the money for the 2 year geek squad warranty and take my chances. Best Buy used to offer 5 year warranty but I don't see that option anymore.
