    Anyone know if this would be worth it for a senior citizen who only use to browse the internet and bing rewards and if a vpn can be installed?

    Probably better off with the 8 inch. Better resolution to see the screen and a bit more responsive. Plus you could use fire toolbox to take off ads and sideload Google play and VPN apps.

    This seems like a great deal for my kids. Is it worth it to get a Fire tablet vs. a Samsung or other Android tablet? Last time I used an Amazon tablet (about 6 years ago), I could not get Google Play working and it seemed the whole point of the Fire tablet was to advertise to buy stuff on Amazon... Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

    With Amazon toolbox software it's easier now to make it more of an Android looking tablet.YouTube has tutorials.

    It all depends on if you need a better processor and RAM when looking at tablets. Kids don't really notice speed or resolution on tablets.

    Good info. Peace I looked into it since I used to be an XDA regular years ago, but found bad news on the toolkit below.

 may not work due to new restrictions in the new firmware. The following tools either do not work
 or have limited functionality:

• OTA Updates - OTAs can no longer be disabled.
• Lockscreen Ads Remover - Ads can no longer be removed from the lockscreen.
• Manage Amazon Apps - Some system apps can no longer be disabled.
