RTINGS Note:
UPDATE: Although Rtings.com did not review the 75" model, their review does reveal that the 75" has an IPS panel. Consumer Reports reviewed the 75" size with the following results:
VIZIO 75PQ9-J01
HD Picture: 4/5
UHD Picture: 4/5
HDR Performance: 3/5
Motion Handling: 4/5
Viewing Angle: 4/5
Sound Quality: 3/5
"Very Good contrast--giving images convincing depth and dimension. Black levels were Very Good, and delivered fairly deep blacks that helped the contrast in darker scenes. Vizio's full-array local-dimming feature helped."
It is a bit of a stretch to claim the Visio P brightness is unmatched. If you go on rtings.com and rank all TVs by Brightness, the 2021 Visio P is ranked 18th for both SDR and HRD brightness (actually lower than the 2020 Visio P which is ranked 12th and lower than the 2018 Visio P which is ranked 6th). Currently the Samsung QN90A and QN90B are still king for brightness by pretty large margins.

As a longtime owner of various Vizio P series displays who went to LG and Sony OLED... I really miss the backlit LED.

The brightness is unmatched with the Vizio (or a Sony Z9), and I don't find the colors of the OLED that much better.

Almost thinking of swapping out my 77" OLED for another P series; if only they didn't heat the room like a furnace.

Note: The 75 inch model has an IPS panel, so we expect it to have much worse contrast, resulting in blacks that look gray in a dark room.

Those aren't exactly the best comparisons considering the price differences, especially at this size. A better comparison would be the Hisense U8G that also gets brighter and for frankly cheaper than the Vizio, though there isn't a 75" model. The Vizio is probably frankly more of a match with the Hisense U7G in terms of brightness, and that could be had for even cheaper.

We've had a 65" Vizio P-Series in the living room since I want to say 2019 when we found a sale for like $800 and it's been a pretty good TV with the exception of the SmartCast UI which I hate, as well as the Wifi card which has given us fits. At least it did at the time, they could have sent updates to correct that by now, though we just have it plugged directly into one of our Google Mesh Wifi nodes these days. At 75", I think this is a pretty damn good deal if you need a monster for your living room.

I'm in the process of sending back a 55" Vizio OLED I have in my bedroom that I got mostly because it was on sale for $800, but again I can't stand the SmartCast UI and it's annoying bugs and Game Mode issues, otherwise the panel itself would be pretty dang good. I'm hoping to find a deal on an LG C1 come Prime Day or Black Friday deals instead, even if I have to make it a 48". Until then, the Hisense U8G I've been quite happy with will stay where it is.

So it's the 65" Hisense U8G for $898 or this 75" Vizio for $1050.

I have a Hisense H7G and the OS is terribly buggy. A lot of times it's extremely slow to respond or doesn't respond all together. I've tried adding the USB per the instructions to add RAM to it but still laggy. That leaves me a little gun shy on the Hisense brand. Any experiences like that here?

I own a 2020 model of the 75" Vizio P Quantum X and it's plagued with bugs. The software is junk and every once in a while, I'll turn the TV off but the backlight stays on. I end up having to unplug it and then plug it back in.

Hope they've resolved some of these issues for anyone considering, but I'll never buy another Vizio again.

I've had all the p series TVs since the first 2019 quantum version and it comes down to 2 things with vizio p series TVs. 1- you need to get an aptv 4K or some other good streaming device. 2- you will eventually run into annoying problems most of the time a power reset fixes, cec problems, tv not powering on or off.. just glitches. Very annoying.

Pros - for the price like this deal it is by far the best picture you will get north of 1080p and especially especially hdr content looks just ridiculously good.. as good as probably anything short of oleds..

I could not deal with the shyt anymore so I got the sony 65 and 75 sony x90j somewhat recently. The vizio has a better 1080p and hdr picture but the Sony wins at everything else.

I have the 2018 equivalent(P75-F1) bought on clearance for $999.99. Great deal I can't say I regret it, however the TV has some problems to say the least. The image flaws are glaring(not sure if better now, I'd hope so) like jailbar effect really bad during panning on light backgrounds, blooming, etc. Also it turns off and restarts several times a week(that started about 6 months ago) sometimes more than once a day. Also occasional horizontal white flashing lines. I will never buy a Vizio again, but if the price is right the flaws and future headaches may still be worth it for you.
