You need to set Google play balance as your default payment under play subscriptions for YouTube TV and also you need to have a play balance to cover the full amount or else the backup payment method will be charged.
Hello Jimates, last year I thought the same thing, had to work with google chat rep which was very easy process to do, I recall that we had to add the gift card balance to my account, then set that as default payment, then used a credit card as the backup method once the balance was 0.
I don't know about the expiration date on Amazon credits for these deals, but Amazon credits can be only used on items that are sold by and shipped by Amazon. They can not be used on 3rd party seller products.

Unfortunately the code didn't work for me. My local Lucky Supermarket has sales on gift cards thru their app and I bought $300 of Google Play gift cards years ago just to pay for my Youtube TV which is now down to my last $65 gift card amount left.
For qualifying purchases, the promotional credit will be automatically applied to the Amazon.com account used to make the qualifying purchase within three (3) days after the qualifying order has shipped.
