Too many colors. How am I supposed to build skyscrapers with just one or two colors when they don't give me enough blue/yellow/red traditional colors?

If you're considering buying basic Lego sets, I recommend buying used, bulk Lego from eBay. They're like $8/pound. Completely random bricks, no instructions. Nothing inspires creativity like making something out of nothing.

Also, Lego is made of virgin ABS plastic. Buying used reduces the amount of plastic being produced which would otherwise end up in the environment.

There are some techniques: use the colors you don't like as core (not visible, for structural support), make your build two tone (or three tone) which from what I have observed (from lego products and expert builders' builds actually will make your build look better (probably because it makes it look busier), add details (which will naturally be different colors)... check out lego modular buildings, their back walls are mono tone (boring) while their front have many features and hardly require and repetitive colors/bricks.

Haha. No...I wasn't being sarcastic. I'm just one of those Lego enthusiast engineers on the autistic spectrum. I don't want mixed colors. I want TONS of one color. Big Grin

All great ideas. I've done things like that. With the tallest building I've made (7+ feet that was getting too close to the ceiling fan), we ended up just doing bands of maybe four floors of one color at a time.
