I literally just opened a Gold account a week ago and received my card a few days ago. The bonus was 60K. I haven't spent anything yet. What is the chance they honor this new sign up bonus if I call them?
they wont. i try this before even after a better offered a day after.

Highly unlikely. You can try but other than than i think there is little you can do. Canceling will not get you anywhere either because of the Amex Lifetime bonus wording and you also burnt one of 5/24 slot
This ^^ .... AMEX Gold ends up being $10 if you're able to use $120 in Uber/UberEats + $120 dining (Grubhub, Shake Shack, Cheesecake Factory etc) -- $240 combined
Stack it up with a good sign on bonus and AMEX offers, you'll be making profit by using this card.
something so strange to me about a deal that involves getting points that i can redeem towards cheaper first class international flights... but i may have to eat at a cheesecake factory to get the most value for it....
isn't this a well known fact for the Amex card . The (lifetime)bonus is once per card , although once per card apparently means once every 7 years. This is why especially with Amex sign up wisely when bonuses are high
This published anywhere or just been user experience? Is it safe to call and ask if eligible for the bonus first or does the no call rule apply to this lol
i just noticed this week that cap1 transfers to hyatt too
Did a quick google search but couldn't find anything on Hyatt being a capital one transfer partner. If this is true, might be time to finally get a venture x card.

Absolutely please do not call . It is not documented but based on many data points experts have studied . In some cases people report 5-6 years but 7 is understood to be safe (of course ymmv)

I have the venture x card . Very very solid , has good transfer partners that are not part of Amex or Chase , but Hyatt is not one of the transfer partners at the moment . If you want more info DM me , I can give you many pointers
Which kills the deal for most. Drops the real pocketed bonus to $750 and you are forced to find ways to spend 4k and use uber/dining if you typically don't do that.
Platinum is a better deal if you have to choose but annual fee is even more massive. Unless there is a way to get it waived.
cant wave the anual fee but i heard that after the year you can speak to retention to get a deal that will offset the cost with extra points just so you can keep the card
Annual Fee is immediate. Points awarded after 4k in spend. When you cancel, the points are deducted from your account. not really sure how you could actually do this successfully.
Many have both cards. This has better rewards on restaurants than Platinum does. So if you eat out a lot, this card is better than Plat.
If you use a corporate card at work, its likely you also get a discount on the annual fee for gold and platinum (my credit is $150/year on platinum).
if you travel, platinum is best. access to delta and AMEX lounges, and status on many hotels (gold Marriott and Hilton, for example)

Done what you are suggesting successfully. So much so that both my Plat and Gold cards are now free to keep

How do you get the credit for using a corp card? Is it just if you sign up when logged into the Corp card? Or any idea if I can go in and request a credit for the fee after signing up thorugh this link?
