I would say OK if you want to dual purpose but dedicated UPS is going to offer a lot more features. Straight from their website:
"It can be an emergency power source (EPS), which will have the same result as UPS for most electronics. Here's the difference. When your RIVER is plugged into the wall, anything plugged into it gets power from the grid, not its battery. If power from the grid stops, RIVER automatically switches to its battery supply mode within 30 milliseconds. That means anything connected will not have power for 30 milliseconds, which may mean sensitive electronics like desktop computers and data servers turn off. Test your devices individually to see if they need UPS to stay powered."

Sounds like you're suggesting daisy-chaining UPS and this power station. Daisy-chaining UPSes isn't recommended:

Can you run a heat generated appliances like rice cooker, hairdryer with this one?
I wouldn't. But check the power stats on the appliance in question. I have the river max, and it was able to run my refrigerator. But I'm not sure about those higher draw appliances. I think it is a 600W inverter, but has "X-Boost" to 1800W. I wouldn't go over 600W for very long. The hair dryer will probably trip the inverter in a minute or two.

The other thing is that this is only 288Wh. So, even if you can run those higher draw appliances, you will have very limited time. If your rice cooker is drawing 500W, it probably won't last a half hour. (You lose some percentage to the inverter and the batteries are never 100% available to the user.)

Generally, I wouldn't plan on using high draw appliances on power stations, but if you really need to, you'll need to spend a lot more than this.

I want to get a portable power station but not sure what is a good one. Willing to spend up to $700 for one. This one is not that high in Wh. And I just feel adding on an extra battery is just cumbersome (extra thing to haul). Need something like a 500W or higher. Also, not sure what brand to get. I want a backup battery that can simulatenously be used when being charged at the same time (Charge and Recharge Simultaneously). I looked in Jackery, EcoFlow, and Bluetti. Not sure if there are other brands worth looking into. Any input would be appreciated. TIA.

Costco has the EcoFlow RIVER Pro model for $430. It is normally $650 and on sale on EcoFlow website for $550.

EcoFlow is expensive but not sure if it worth the price.

Unless using these inside a 2000 inverter that sips gas, most are extremely quite and is much more economical.

Got ya! Thank you for the tips, I was looking at this and the 720wh (if I remember it right). I saw a video that the guy was using the 720 to cook rice....that is why I was wondering if this one can be done as well.

Yeah, just depends on what the power draw of the rice cooker is. 288Wh just isn't going to get you very far if it is drawing a lot of power. They have a few sales on larger units on their ebay page

Jackery is overpriced with obsolete functions I would say. Bluetti is nice but the AC adapter is as big as a brick, not friendly to carry around. EcoFlow would be the best out of three. Ecoflow also has more functions compared to the others. You can charge it up to 90% from 0% in an hour. It also supports pass thru charging, which means charging the power station while drawing power from AC. One drawback is it uses Li-on battery not LifePO4, with which Ecoflow claims 800 charge cycles. If you are an occasional user and say you charge it once a week, 800 cycles last 15 years theoretically. Currently the Ecoflow River Pro from Costco is a good deal. I got it last year and no issues so far. I am now getting this River 600 based on good prior experience of the River Pro.

Thank you for your reply. But the River Pro uses LiFePO4 battery correct?

In your price range I would suggest the bluetti eb70s for best bang for the buck red color on amazon or green color bought from walmart.

Really feel eco flow would best NOT be purchased until they provide lithium phosphate batteries in their unit and stops their privacy invasive permissions from their app.The eco river just can't compete with yesterdays launch of bluettis eb3a which brand new can be purchased on amazon for $239.00 after coupon codes and includes free solar cables. This is only $75 more than the ecoflow river ebay refurbished unit that only has a lithium battery. For only $75 more for a new bluetti it seems like a no brainer to go with the bluetti. Or as Hobotech said ' the new eb3a is an ecoflow killer.'

Good deal! But I ended up getting BLUETTI EB3A with Lifepo4. Much safer and more cycles. With coupon and tax $260.

Things I liked about EB3A

-Fast charge 0-80% IN 40mins
-Wireless charging
-WIFI/Bluetooth
-10 pounds
