I was approved instantly as well. It showed me the credit limit approved and also said the card will be mailed within 7-10 days…. However, haven't received any email for confirmation and don't see new credit account under Citi app. Anyone had the same situation? How long after it will show in Citi app?
I was approved instantly on 9/6/2022. I have a Citi account with a Double Cash card and it wasn't until 9/11/2022 that I was offered to link the new card to the account. I don't use the app but might be similar timing. If you try the web, look on the left side below the "CREDIT CARDS" section and before the "View All Citi Offers for You". I believe that's where I saw the suggestion to link in the new card.
What's the concern? That closing credit cards hurts your credit score? Because I've closed plenty of credit cards and I haven't seen an overall negative effect to my score. I think as long as you keep your oldest accounts open and the total credit limit on your open cards is high enough, then the negative effects from closing a credit card should be temporary/negligible. Everyone's situation is different, so I would exercise caution. But I disagree with the blanket statement that you should never close a credit card.

Does anyone know from when do the count the 3 months in which we need to spend 4k? Is it from the day the application was approved or is from when you got the card or activate the card?
If activation date then can we delay it by delaying the activation without risk of it being cancelled?

It's 3 months from the card approval date. I don't know if any issuer starts the 3 month period (or whatever it is for the sign up bonus) from when the card is activated.
