I have the $300 per year plan with 8GB data and I've been on the phone with customer service. They wont change my data to 16GB. I was on the phone with them 35min to argue. I asked for a supervisor and they hung up. I'm not giving up though.

Even without the 16GB promo, the wording on the website always looked like the $300 is charged right away, but it isn't. They only charge a few dollars to send the SIM card and will charge the rest when you activate it. However, the trick is to use a credit card issued by a bank that lets you lock the card. Lock your card right before you activate the SIM, and the $300 charge will decline. You can also order the SIM using a Visa gift card that has a small balance, so the $300 will never be approved. You then call customer service and read the gift card numbers to the rep. Sometimes you can still manage to setup your online account and enter them yourself.

Maury: When it comes to ATT claiming new and existing customers get the same deals through all their recent advertisements....

Maury: The lie detector test determined that was a lie.

Yes, it's fake 5g. It's only 4g
It's fast enough for me though. Getting 200+mbps in some locations.

Privacy.com is the site I use for things like this in case your bankcard doesn't allow immediate locking. I've used it for years for trials / promos - it's fantastic... but doesn't always work. Some sites won't allow prepaid credit cards - which is what privacy cards look like.

Curious to see how this compares to Boost Mobile $300 Unlimited Plan? https://slickdeals.net/f/15770503-new-customers-boost-mobile-12-months-unlimited-data-unlimited-talk-text-free-shipping-300-25-mo?v=1
Just signed up for the Boost Mobile and its Unlimited data at $300 on the same AT&T Network.
Haven't had any issues so far with Boost. My understand is QCI Prioritization is 9 for Boost and 8 for AT&T Prepaid, So this AT&T is slightly better. Haven't seen any slow downs or lag so the QCI value may only apply when network is overwhelmed in busy areas?

I agree with you on AT&T being $hit. Can you point out what the better options are?
He can't because there are only 3 big carriers. The Big 3 U.S. wireless carriers – AT&T, T-Mobile (Sprint) and Verizon

Everyone else lease off these 3 carriers networks/towers.

Glad to hear that. Always been on MVNOs so international travel is always an issue. At least those two countries are covered here. Also, considering Tmobile postpaid to expand that further.

I do have a hard time getting on 1 year without trying the service first.
