I don't understand how the gift cards work if you have to pay the $300 up front. Can you elaborate? Thanks!!
I gave $300 in prepaid card PINs over the phone when activating. The old megathread wiki has some helpful info - https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/490774

WiFi calling included?
If your phone is on the att approved list. Their support of androids are the pits so check first. Samsung OK, pixels, some Motorola, iPhone but absolutely no Chinese phones including oneplus. That goes for 5g if they ever turn it on too.

Does this include free data roaming in Canada? Is it 4G?
4G/Google Maps worked fine for me in Toronto in early 2020.

What if you decide to switch to another carrier before the end of the the 12-month period? Do you get a prorated refund? Or your money is basically gone?

Thanks for clarifying. Looks like roaming would be free which is the most important thing anyway
What other countries?

When you order they charge you for the sim only. I think I paid $1. Once you get the sim you login to att portal where you either pay with cc + tax or enter the pin for the prepaid cards. Once you pay the $300 balance it activates your line. I have done this 6 times. Just did for mil last month. You save a good $60 or more this way if you get the gc from Kroger or target.
Got it, thanks. I'm already on AT&T prepaid, but just on a month to month plan, do you think I can get this deal? Or do you have to be brand new to AT&T?

Can I order with a virtual CC that has $1 on it and then take my time to decide if I want to activate it or not?

There is a big difference between MVNO's and direct network providers. Main being the MVNO's throttle your data during peak hours , many times to a point the data is unusable when you need it. I have used Visible for 6 months and except at my home, my data speeds outside in the City were terrible. At my son's school, I was getting 0.4 MB. Tried calling them and settings and nothing helped. Switched to this plan and I get on an aerage more than 40 MBPS.

yea, a lot to think about. 16GB is not a lot if working via the data . . . that is the question.
