I have the $300 per year plan with 8GB data and I've been on the phone with customer service. They wont change my data to 16GB. I was on the phone with them 35min to argue. I asked for a supervisor and they hung up. I'm not giving up though.

you cannot create a new account without an att phone number.. and to get an att number you need to register with a credit card since theres no option to put in a gift card code

I think it is all hype about AT&T and T-mobile's 5g. You won't get blazing speeds because all the 5g speed are in the low spectrum, so it is a little faster than its 4g lte but you won't notice it.

You need to use a credit card to start the account but after that you can freeze transactions on that card and pay with prepaid gift cards. I signed up for the first time last year and paid all $300 using gift cards.

You just need to port out your number to another carrier and then port it back over. I managed to do this within a day with my wife's line. I'm still waiting on the new AT&T Prepaid SIM card, obviously, but everything went through fine.

AT&T customer service (at least the port out team) is the worst. I think I've been on hold / hung up on 5 times now trying to port in a number from Tello. They don't even have "Tello" as part of their dropdown, and Tello is not receiving any requests by them. I've been placed on hold for hours. If they can't figure something out, they just hang up on you. These outsourced teams on all companies are the worst. Outsourced customer service bs from India, Philippines, etc. Since when did we, as consumers, start accepting that this is ok and it is the norm?

If you have unactivated prepaid sim card, you can follow instructions sent by a message after inserting the new sim and make the payment with the gift card.

You can order the prepaid SIM from ebay.

I just ported out tello to cricket and selected T-Mobile and it went thru.
