I have the $300 per year plan with 8GB data and I've been on the phone with customer service. They wont change my data to 16GB. I was on the phone with them 35min to argue. I asked for a supervisor and they hung up. I'm not giving up though.

Can someone please put it simply: Solely speaking of call quality/reception/data speed, compared to AT&T postpaid (lack of 5g notwithstanding) what am I missing with this plan vs my current postpaid plan? Roaming? Priority? More dropped calls? etc.

I have elite plan, $35 plus taxes with group of 6.

High priority unlimited data
40 GB hotspot
HBO Max
5G access
Active Armour advanced

If I want single line plan, I would choose this prepaid, but if you can have group discount and work discount postpaid unlimited will give piece of mind for little extra

Online, in account summary, it shows "Discount Reward Offer: 8GB and then "Plan Data (includes 0 KB Rollover Data) 8GB" for a total of 16GB. ATT doesn't show it as a total of 16GB, but two separate 8GB (yes, confused me too). See attached pic.

So much for trying to sign up with a Mastercard gift card. Got this message at checkout:
"Sorry, but we can't accept an AT&T Gift/Promotion Card for payment. Please provide a different payment method and try again."

What other methods can I use to get through the sign up? None of my current cc allow for virtual numbers anymore and paypal got rid of the key feature that also did this. Not sure why my mastercard gift card with low balance was rejected. anyone?

this is what is shown in my account. Missing the promotional 8GB. Did you active your account online or through the phone. Now I suspect the agent selected the wrong plan to activate.

You can use the Privacy app… long time user, it's really excellent for virtual cards, gives a ton of control over card parameters. One of best apps/services ever!

This is annoying because I'd expect the 16GB to be the base, which can rollover every month, effectively having a maximum of 32GB of data. If they do it this way, then they screw over what they are saying it does.

yeah it's not first in first out, quite by intention by them, and I'm sure that many people won't catch that until they are already customers... it can be an extra special surprise to those who pay yearly for their first round on the plan. but even given that, the plan is still pretty decent as long as they are indeed renewing the 16 GB base every month. I just wish they could be more straightforward and transparent, not try to be sneaky in any way. doing things like this really undermines brand goodwill in your customers, and seems medium-to-long-term not the best move.

also you bring up a good point, does this mean the most someone could ever have after the first month is 24 GB of total data to use instead of 32? (theoretically because obviously almost everyone's going to use some data during the month)

NOT true, you can start with gift card immediately, i just did, here are the steps:

• Used a "Generated Card" Number from my bank (citibank) when ordering the SIM card.
You can also use a gift card with balance less than $300 - it will bounce the $300+tax and fees charge anyway. NEED TO HAVE ATLEAST $1

• You dont get Charged ANYTHING untill you pop the SIM into the phone.

• Cancelled the "Generated Card" immediately after the order went thru.

• Received the SIM card about a day later in the mail, and put it in the Phone, went online at:
https://www.paygonline.com/websc/loginPage.html
Make a new AT&T prepaid account (Mobile Number is already provided in the envelope slip when you receive your SIM card in the mail)
You will be sent a temporarely PIN to that new AT&T number via SMS.

• After the account is created you will see balance due $300 as you havent been charged for anything yet, and pressung the "Pay Now" button will present you with option to pay with either a Credit/Debit Card or enter a Code from a Prepaid Card..

• Go to Target and buy your prepaid card here:
https://www.target.com/p/prepaid-...A-82498449 [target.com]
Should arrive within 2-4hrs into your email box.
NOTE Target Prepaid Phone Cards offten go on sale for 10% off, so you could get the $300 card for $270 and if you have Red Card aditional 5% off so your total year plan could cost $256.50 which ends up been $21.37 a month 😎

• Activate your plan.

• Optionaly after all that is done, call customer service to port your number and replace the one the SIM card came with.

Attaching a screenshot of the account pending $300 Bill due and Prepaid Card Option below:

How often does Target run the 10% promo?

Do you need to pay another $300 after the end of your 1st year? Or do you pay $25 monthly from now on?
After the 12 month you have to re-up $300 for another 12 months.
