I have the $300 per year plan with 8GB data and I've been on the phone with customer service. They wont change my data to 16GB. I was on the phone with them 35min to argue. I asked for a supervisor and they hung up. I'm not giving up though.

$25/mon is not a deal. Using 16gb data for what when we are in most locations with free WiFi!
Is there a better deal than this for a single or two lines with direct carriers and not MVNO's?

I've been looking for a reasonable hotspot plan for some time. This sounds like possibly the best one around (even though it is not that great overall)

Does anyone know if the hotspot include the entire amount of data and not limited to like 5gb like most plans? I don't care about 5g, just need 4g. (it says yes, full data usage)

Also, I'm still a bit unclear on this whole 8+8 thing. You 'do' get 16GB a month on the same line correct? Not just 16GB if it rolls over. It's really 8+8 (and possibly up to additional 8gb rollover for a month).
You get full 16gb at 4G LTE each cycle (no 5G on this plan) -- it can be used as either mobile data or hotspot data (doesn't matter)

Starting 2nd month you get at least 16gb:
- 8gb standard (unused portion can rollover to next cycle only)
- 8gb promo (this does not rollover)
- up to 8gb rollover data from previous cycle (this does not rollover again)

The plan should use promo + rollover data first each cycle and then standard data last -- up to 8gb of unused standard data will rollover to next cycle

If you have 4 or more, tmobile is good. For 1-2 lines, you're stock with prepaid and MVNO

After multiple people and countless hours with AT&T's tech support, I finally got someone to refund the remaining 10 months of my $300 8GB/month prepaid service; at least that's what she said, I'm supposed to get a refund 3-4 days from now but who knows if they'll actually do it. If it goes through I'm getting this $300 16GB/month plan; very dumb how they can't just modify my current 8GB plan and add the extra bonus.

The 8GB plan has "up to" 16GB/month with the rollover data. This plan should have "up to" 24GB/month correct?

Anyone know what the cheapest prepaid provider would be for a child who only uses the phone when on WiFi and to make Facetime calls?

Great deal. That roller over data is great. ATT has good.coverage. Too bad I bought mint mobile year package recently but I jump on this. Hope this deal come up again next year.

"Our 12-month plan gives you 16GB of high-speed data each month when you pay $300 in advance for 12 months of service. Also, your unused high-speed data can carry over for 1 monthly renewal period."

Lol..you are a true slickdealer. I think your best bet is to port out for a month and port back in. Maybe use one of those Boost deals.
You'll forfeit the plan since it's prepaid.

I used to think Verizon had the worst customer service because they took so long to pick up. Nope AT&T tops Verizon. Store and phone reps will lie, and hang up on you and store reps will steal the products for themselves.

Go check out US Mobile Pooled plan. Its $9 for unlimited talk/text and $2 a GB and you can add more as needed. So if they stay under 1 GB then its around $11.50. That runs on Verizon 5G network. Since it is hard capped if they turn off wifi by accident you are only out $2 if they blow through the gig. For smaller kids that can really be a help.

Technically speaking if you are only using it on wifi 100% you do not need a cellular plan. You can get a Google voice number and use that or FT you can contact via icloud email address. This is how it was done on the old ipods with no cellular modem Smilie

any info about international calling charges? How much if I call to India..
If it's India, Whatsapp is you friend. You do not want to do DID international dialing on any carrier unless it is included. You should look into RedPocket if you are 100% on DID or alternatively Google voice is 1c/min. I have used whatsapp 99% of the time and if I need to Google Voice.

I will look into it since he still needs a plan for the occasional phone call or text from his grandparents. Thanks
