You can try online eSIM activation to see if it accepts your Android phone -- not sure which phones are compatible but it might work for some newer Android phones:

If it doesn't then you'll probably need to get a physical eSIM card w/ QR code from a local ATT Store ($5 fee) then activate it online yourself -- don't activate in store otherwise you'll get standard 8gb data

Follow the same steps in wiki of getting a new number from same area as your current number when activating then porting your number later

I have a Pixel 4a. I tried and it doesn't recognize the EID (last 4 or the entire 32 digits).

Then its not compatible with their online eSIM activation -- newer Samsungs might work with it but not sure

Option A) go buy a $5 eSIM card from local store and activate new service online using that

Option B) order free physical sim card online for now -- you can buy $5 eSIM card at a local store later on when you get a chance and call prepaid CS to replace your sim

i am in process of this deal. I decided that I wanted to test out TMobile prepaid for a month first before switching to this deal, as well as keep my number. So I went to TMobile store to get on a simply plan. It was quite the hassle since I didn't realize my port transfer security on AT&T was enabled, so I spent 2 hours with a TMobile representative to confirm that on their end. Once AT&T confirmed on their end that security was disabled, it took like half an hour for it for TMobile to port over. Now I have a Tmobile plan and the reception wasn't the greatest in my area. So I just went and purchased the plan and now waiting for my sim card to come. We'll wait and see if there is any hassle in activating.

Just to add what others have noted re 5G and it not being possible on this plan, note that with ANY plan that's on AT&T proper you cannot get 5G coverage with an unlocked/BYOD device (confirmed by CSR a few days ago). I'm currently in the process of migrating off of AT&T due to coverage issues in Madison, WI, the 5G BS, and the insane prices we've been paying.

Moving to Google Fi and we're looking at $20/line for their Simply Unlimited plan with 4 lines.

My Verizon A71 gets 5G NSA on the new Boost network (AT&T). Wonder why they are doing this.

Really cause when I was with AT&T I did get 5G NSA on my device, now 5G+ maybe not but 5G nationwide is defiantly available on AT&T prepaid. I believe the rep told you something he was really not confident on saying but wanted to make sure you left "Satisfied".

I left AT&T though cause last time I needed to get help from Prepaid CS, wait times exceeded 1+ hours multiple days in a row.

Wish some of these carriers had good deals for new customers who only need 1-2gb per month of data. Sigh.

Does anyone know customers can send international text/SMS by using this plan? I would like to try this if it allows me to send texts from the USA to other countries. Any help would be appreciated.

Do note, that I have this plan now and it's 5Ge on my iPhone, and it's slow speeds in bay area. Wish I had the full 5G but that doesn't come with this plan, only with the MAX plan.
