I thought "ordering physical sim and later paying with prepaid is not possible" because when you order your card is charged for $1 and later as soon as you activate it will run the $300 on the card stored and no prepaid card payment option
I would just get a sim and activate the line on att prepaid activations

The wiki says: You must add money to your account within 26 days of activation, or your account will be canceled
My question is if there is a max number of days within which I need to activiate the service after ordering the sim card from the website? In another word, if I order the sim card with a $1 virtual credite card, do I need to activate it immediatly once the sim card is received? Or can I wait for a couple of months?
Thanks.

When I try to order online it prompts me to pay $0.99 (esim/sim card) + 300 + local taxes via credit card (no refill card option). I don't see an option to pay the full amount for anything besides a credit card. Am i missing a way to pay by refill card?

The default on the website is to prepay the entire amount via cc. In order to pay via prepaid card one must enter a payment method that will cover only the cost of the sim $1.07. Thereby leaving a balance due of $300.00 associated with the sim that is ordered. Next step is a bit murkier as most seem to have waited for the sim to ship and then proceeded from there to activate a new account using the sim and the new (important) telephone number assigned when the sim ships. Alternatively, the method that I just was successful in accomplishing earlier today was to visit my local AT&T store and lay out $5 for a sim and established a new account with that sim on the AT&T new activation portal https://www.att.com/prepaid/activ...ivate.html. This path avoids the possibility of not having a prepaid card option. Once the account is set up and the full payment is received final step is to port in ones desired cell number. I encountered a great deal of difficulty obtaining the phone cards from the Target website as they appear to have subcontracted the issuance of the phone cards to an outfit called Blackhawk. Same outfit that among other things, was particularly lax in issuing the sign up bonus for new visable customers awhile back. As some of the phone cards that Blackhawk sold to me were not recognized as valid on the AT&T activation portal I was obliged to reach out to c.s. @ AT&T. Extraordinarily helpful in verifying the viability of all cards purchased as well as standing by to ensure phone activation went smoothly in addition to completing the final step of porting original cell phone number to my new account in a matter of a few minutes.

I currently have a line with AT&T Prepaid that's still on the 10c/min plan. The account that line is under has $100 balance, how do I add a line to the account to utilize that $100 balance to pay for this new plan?

Anyone knows if this new plan allows me to receive texts from US while traveling in another country? A stupid bank will send me a text code EVERY time I try to log into my account. Again I just need to receive texts. I have been keeping the old Tmobile $30 Walmart plan just for this one reason. But the 100 minutes talk time is too bad and I am over the limit (and pay extra minutes) almost every month Frown
Change the phone number used for 2 factor authentication to a Google voice number
Text to google voice works across the globe as it comes in as an email
No phone needed Smilie

It is best plan for ~$250 16GB plan
Target $5 off 50 = -$30 (for 6 cards $300 plan)
5% off of from $270 = -$13.5 (5% from redcard or discover 5% for paypal)
Extra 2% target circle earning = -$5.4 (i believe 2% is based on $45 instead of $50)

I was just successfully able to go from the 8GB annual plan to this 16GB annual plan on my line that was up for renewal in two days. Thanks so much to perfchris and others on here for details on how to make this work.

Unlike most others I decided to use Tracfone as my intermediary port so figured I'd lay out what I did.

Went to Dollar General and bought a $1 Tracfone (Verizon) SIM and activated online on their $15 one month plan porting my current AT&T prepaid number. I did have to call AT&T to get the account number for porting. I was told that there was no PIN needed to port and to use 000000, however I read elsewhere that may not be the case so I used my AT&T account security PIN in the field for PIN and it worked so YMMV on that part.

I ordered the new AT&T plan/SIM online using a $40 Visa gift card I already had. SIM arrived next day. I put it in an unlocked phone and it activated immediately with a new (temporary) AT&T number, but didn't actually have service because I still had the $300 balance to be paid on the account. Went online and bought the AT&T prepaid cards via Target and used them to fund the account. NOTE it would only let me order 4 $50 cards the next I tried was "canceled" due to customer limits it said, so I ordered one $100 card. So $275 total to activate the plan, no taxes when using the prepaid cards.

With both accounts active and working I called AT&T port activations to transfer my regular number back from Tracfone to AT&T. I was literally on the phone about 10 minutes and it all went so smoothly. VERY different experience than my last attempt at getting this plan.

One additional thing to mention for someone to try, that I forgot to look into until after I had already ordered the new SIM, is there is some decent cashback potential from a couple of the popular cashback sites. I am not certain that it will work but potential to get $40 to $75 cashback if it qualifies as a "new" account for CB purposes as well, I assume it should.

With the new iPhones being eSIM only, what's the best way to sign up for this offer. The normal process of buying a physical SIM seems like a non-starter, because you won't be able to activate it, unless you use a pSIM capable phone.
