I have the $300 per year plan with 8GB data and I've been on the phone with customer service. They wont change my data to 16GB. I was on the phone with them 35min to argue. I asked for a supervisor and they hung up. I'm not giving up though.

Quick question: did you try to do the port and the purchase of the sim in one step?

I hope not… cause at the root at most of these issues is when you tick off the box that you will be bringing a phone number with you.

always always request a new number with the same zip code as the number you will be porting in

and then call into 1-888 port activations to port old onto new

always always in 2 steps an intermediary step is needed to port old number to tmobile in between above 2 steps should you be currently with att att prepaid or cricker

Thank you for sharing these tips. Yes, I did tick off the box that I would be bringing a phone number with me, which seemed like a reasonable thing to do because my intent was to port in my existing number. The real issue is a completely incompetent and passive-aggressive support. Even with a lot of patience and perseverance it seems nearly impossible to get resolution. The seemingly outsourced ATT prepaid customer service just tell you random things and transfer you around.

kinda makes sense if you think about it you cannot have 2 esim settings for the same number...
I didn't have 2 esim, the new ATT line was a physical sim. I would have used esim for the new line but ATT wanted to mail me a QR code to enable the esim. Not sure if there is a quicker way but I didn't see it at the time. There was also a concern of trying to port from one esim to another and how that would work. I felt it would be most straightforward to port from esim to a real sim.

I agree regarding the customer service that makes you turn in circles but if you had read my many posts and others posts you can see that what you did was a no-no

You were not clear in your post…. irrespective of that… your esim profile for the number conflicted with the sim profile

Yes, definitely want to clarify I did not try to attempt an esim to esim port. I would have but don't know why ATT can't deliver an esim via email. Going to venture a guess that shipping the QR code is for security reasons.

And as you said it was definitely a conflict between the SIM profiles. I would have thought that the t-mobile e-sim would disable when the line was ported but it did not happen, I still had to go into the settings and delete it.

if you chat with them they can now transfer your sim to esim as well no need for a physical qr code

5Ge is LTE

should not have 5G proper on this plan
I am getting 5G (not 5GE) on a monthly prepaid plan (15GB) now too. No idea when it started, but not complaining.

I'm currently using the 8GB plan... I will be renewing soon with the 16GB plan (cancelling my 8GB and starting 16GB plan). I'm glad AT&T does this plan for $25 per month... It has worked out great for me! You can even turn down your streaming videos to 1.5Mbps while you are using internet to make sure you don't use all your data.

Im pretty sure Ive set this up correctly. But the account only shows 8gb. "Discount reward offer: 8GB data". I followed all the instructions and did not use customer service to port until my temp line was fully set up and I had paid the $300 (using prepaid cards). I have a notification that says "congratulations on your double data" but only 8gb is showing as the plan. Is this a glitch or an error?

"2 lines" meaning you should see two separate 8GB banks listed on your account. 8GB regular and 8GB promo.
