the weight's too much, I have an american tourister 28' soft shell thats 10lbs
with airlines haggling so much for weight each lb is important

I have had this model for one year: Samsonite Winfield 2 Hardside Luggage with Spinner Wheels, Deep Blue, 3-Piece Set (20/24/28) https://a.co/d/bQylbZQ
It's pretty great except the sides scratch up pretty easily, this model looks like it might scratch less which would make it even nicer.

I've been banging the 28" and 22" one from this very set for various travel / hauling stuff to conventions. The 30" has been fine even hauling 80lbs+ of stuff on rougher sidewalks and on asphalt roads. Wheels have been fine.

Samsonite has excellent 10-year warranty. I have a backpack replaced and luggage (wheel) repaired at no cost to me. I wished it were cheaper and only a 28" and 20". The 24" is pointless because it's too big for a carry-on and too small for a checked-bag.
