Practically everything under the hood is 19mm or less (but this set goes up to 22mm if needed).

There are plenty of mechanics who don't work on things that need larger sockets.

Most automotive tasks, especially under the hood, are just fine with 3/8". Larger, rusted stuff on the underside would be better to tackle with 1/2", though in those cases, most automotive mechanics would be using an impact with impact sockets anyways.

If Im not mistaken, one of the pro's of Husky is that you can take any broken tool directly to HD for a replacement that day?

In for the 270 piece one at $30 more, was about to pull the trigger for a DeWalt 205 piece tool set but the easy in store tool replacement warranty made the difference!

Seems like the 270-piece set mostly adds hex keys (40 vs. 14) and bits (48 vs. 29). I went with the 235 because of that.

A real "Mechanic's" set would have more 1/2 inch sockets, extensions, this 3/8 predominant kit doesn't really cut it... Good for snow blowers and lawn mowers I guess.

Think again, the 22mm is only 3/8 sizes completely inadequate for most 22mm automotive work. Check the full spec list on the pdf.
