Not holding a balance is a novel idea I don't think most people can subscribe to.

Seeing somebody who is close to me who had maxed out each of their credit cards, and only paying the minimum payment each month made me sick. They were paying 3-4 times more in interest than their monthly payment. And they didn't even see why that was an issue. Told them to pay that shit off, use it for maybe streaming subscription services at the very most, and start using their debit card instead.
22% interest 😬

Pretty sure that's not the majority, credit cards are ALWAYS better due to cash back/points, security, etc the only reasoning not to use them is cause you can't control yourself which is a non issue for most people

My mom is an authorized cardholder on my account - if she applies, will she count as a "new customer?" Anyone have experience with this?

My credit score is 750, and i got denied on the first prime account that i tried. I have 2 other ones i can try. My addy is slightly jigged, and i used a spare google voice number. Name on the account is made up too.
Starting to think that may have been the issue.
The other two accounts were only $75 and $50 though. So I may have to tranfer some hard earned cash to citi bank, for a 1 year mandatory hold, to push the application through.

Going to apply for either wells or citi right now, and spend $1k tomorrow. Not walking away with nothing.
I will ask to use my neighbors amazon card, and buy them some beer. They are cool like that.
Going to reapply for amazon next month, or as soon as the let me.

Wells also just gave me the embargo just now.
So that leave the $200 citi offer, with only 1% back. Not really worth it.
Much better bank debit card offers, if I just transfer 100k over to a bank with perks.

Who offers a $500 bonus? Do I have to leave money in an account or something to qualify?

I worked in collections for years I would beg to differ. They seem to be a issue for most people I know, Very few pay off in full monthly in my experience. That being said I love the points my state pays sales tax on online goods 7% so with 5% avrg back on amazon it feels more like only 2% to me Smilie
