    These lights are really bad, one their actual light area is much smaller than 6 inches, and hence light from these are not spread out rather more focused. The color accuracy is bad

    It's a shame these are retrofits into existing cans. Lately been spoiled by can less ones and their ease of installation (no worry about hitting ceiling beam) that don't t even bother with this type, good deal for someone who already has existing enclosure already though.

    You'll either need an existing can, or you'll have to buy with junction box for new installs.

    For new installs don't buy these.

    How does the night light function work if the wall switch is off? If I need to switch them on and off multiple times to switch "modes", I'm afraid that's going to be too cerebral for our household.
    The first time my wife or mother in law hits the wall switch and the lights fail to turn on, it's over.

    When on flip the swith to off. Then turm it right back on and the night light turns on. I have similar in my bathroom and mine work great

    I love this recessed and the night light alot. Beware the 6 inch lights comes with torsion spring whereas 4 inch comes with clip. I bought almost 3 dozens of this at much much higher price a month ago.

    What's the downside to the spring vs clip?

    I've only ever done high hats once... PITA!!! But that was in my basement before it was finished.

    I need recessed in the living room which is finished. I can easily get above it to run the electric. Haven't ever tried these kid of recessed lights before, so not sure what else I need to know about them but running hard wire to each of them.

    I recently spent a ton of time trying to find a high CRI permanent install light setup. I concur that these wafer-style downlights lie about their CRI. I ended up going with CRI95 strip lights mounted with aluminum channels. I got everything from FlexFire LEDS, which has some nice stuff. I spent a lot about a month ago and was a bit dismayed to find they had 30% off sitewide today with coupon SUMMER30. Hopefully someone here can make use of it.

    I installed two of this brand's 13" LED lights [amazon.com] with a similar night light feature on the same circuit in my kitchen and hooked it up to the same switch. I had to return these because there's no option to turn off the night light feature (you have to turn the switch on and off to go from off > night light > on) and for some reason the two lights almost never synced up, so one light would be in night light mode, but the other went to full on. It was always inconsistent - sometimes they'd both to go full on, sometimes both would go to night light, but more often than not it was always one would start at night light and the other to full on. There was no way to program the lights to always start at night light or to full on. If it was consistent that both were synced up then I'd have put up with it, but having to cycle on and off constantly (it was always really hard to get them synced up, I'd be cycling the lights on and off at least a dozen times before I got lucky) to get them both to be synced up was horribly annoying.

    Maybe these will be better about syncing up the night light and full on modes, but I'd recommend checking reviews before purchasing.
