Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
thanks, dont think it would work with the asrock ab350 ac/itx board then.
this CPU seems to be even matched with the ryzen 2700x for gaming. its actually not a bad price if you dont live near a microcenter and dont want to buy used from ebay.

Skip this 4500, jump to a 5600.

Summary of the video: R5 4500 is a trash. Do not buy.
Counter point: Steve doesn't take into account street pricing and platform costs. The 4500 is good enough for the RX 6600/RTX 3060 which have only a third of the processing power of the RTX 3080. You are much better off going up a tier of GPU from RX 6500 XT to RX 6600 than going from a 4500 to a 5600 for $70. Non-power, non-gamer users will not know the difference between the two CPUs either.

Please stop aimlessly linking/quoting GN with no context. Everything is relative to price. The guy will throw a bitch fit about anything regardless of what price point it's proposed at.
Edit:
Source: a slick dealer who bought a mATX case at $25 against his "advice" when other components were on fire sales. His reviews of the case provided nothing but pure bitchfest whiney bullshit. We're talking a matter of a couple C on a case that is in extreme budget range intended for builds in said budget range.

Well, i think the price/performance for this CPU is bad. So I agree with Steve. Because you don't agree Steve, it doesnt mean everyone has to agree with you.
Just like you can post a certain opinion, I can also share an opinion.
Why is this CPU bad? It would be a decent bump in power compared to what Im currently running: an Opteron 1218.
Im on very outdated hardware* and only have so many dollars for new parts, while I want something in the 5000 range, this is (for the price) at least a step upwards.
Just because something is not for you does not mean its bad or a bad deal. Consider that if a deal isnt for you, maybe you dont need to post on the thread and waste folks' time.
*Outdated but played Skyrim, Fallout 4, and Warhammer 40k just fine. I mostly browse, watch movies or TV, but especially spend time writing on this machine, so it fulfills all my needs. Its a big step up from my first CPU: a 6502, 1mhz.
