They removed the backup at original quality (except for the OG 2016 Pixels). Backup at storage saver (compressed quality) is available for life for the Pixel 2 - 5, but not for any newer Pixels after that.

Right but security updates are a thing I guess coming from an IT environment I wouldn't recommend using any hardware that's connected (online) that's end of life and has no support going forward.but yeah right now you could go find a pixel 1 for next to nothing and it might run fine but would I do it knowing it hasn't had a security update or software support for years?... absolutely not

It helps but the ignorance of the user plays a much bigger role in getting scam. Kids and users in enderdeveloped countries are very easy to scam. I go back to laos and have to wipe phone bacause they click n install walware n spyware sht all the time.

These are going to have a better camera, be the full pixel experience. Are people really going to be excited for an a-device? Half of a phone? No thanks. These phones is a great deal. The 4 is good too, it's definitely the best build out of the two. Both have smooth display, 90hz… in dev mode you can force 90 all the time. Wireless charging no matter what phone won't beat a large power brick.

5a has the fingerprint reader in the back. Much better than the onscreen one from Google.

Trying to figure out the point of having a phone with little to no security updates. I just got a cracked screen 6 Pro for $225 on eBay screen is very easy to replace if it ever went to wonky

The Pixel 1 have unlimited uncompressed upload of images/videos. While Pixel 2-5 have unlimited compressed.
I brought a used one off of eBay just for that purpose. I use it mainly to transfer my images/videos shot with my Sony A7RIII or iPhone 12 Pro to the Pixel 1. It then automatically upload to my Google Photos uncompressed.
That's why the Pixel 1 is worth over $100 and more than the pixel 2 or 3 on eBay. It's a cheap alternative to paying Google Photos for uncompressed storage.
