Got this text message an hour ago. looks like they are making changes to their 5 for 100 plan. time to shop for new plans now.


Cricket Free Msg: Starting [July 20], your rate plan price will change. The average price per line on your account will be $26.00/mo. instead of $20.00/mo. Visit a Cricket store or https://www.cricketwireless.com/RatePlans to learn about other Cricket rate plans that may offer a better value for you. If you stay on your current plan, the monthly price for line 4 will be $20 instead of $10 and line 5 will be $20 instead of $0.

It depends on when you got their service. They used to offer 5 lines for $100 back in 2017 if I'm not mistaken. Its been grandfathered for a while until they decided to retire it.

I've had that plan. Had to upgrade last year to the 5 lines for $125 to get higher data speeds and 5G.

I've also been on their 5 line for $100 plan "forever". No text here either but I'll probably stick with Cricket either way. Kroger offers their cricket gift cards for 13% off regularly and I always keep a balance on the account and I get 2% cash back for buying them with my credit card. So $125 would really cost $106.58
$125 - $16.25 = $108.75 (13%) then - 2% = $106.58

I've been on the grandfathered 5/$100 plan for several years now. Thus far, I have not received notification regarding the plan rate change, and my July monthly charges as the same as before. Perhaps they will change it to coincide with the next billing cycle?

i have not received a text yet , still $100 here due June 23rd this week , and I have $800 in credits.

there is an app called Ad it Up for android phones and you can earn cricket credits really easy!
I started it in Oct 2021 just for gift cards , but saw all 5 lines were eligible to play so i dug out the old android prepaid phones from my Viggle Days and I havent paid for cricket service since Nov last year.
I was able to earn $125 in cricket credits in about 15-20 days in the beginning , but now like any rewards app , they have cut the bonus points by 2/3rds. so will be looking at $125 credit every 45 days or so with minimum effort. if you want to do alot more surverys you could get enough points every month.

If July they make me switch to $125 , I can live with that no problems.

I use visible. Fairly happy with it. Hotspot included - some limitations I believe but I don't use it anyway. $25/mo unlimited with no need for family plan. $5/mo for Apple Watch service if that's of interest to you

I'm assuming people whose billing periods end before July 20 get one more month at the $100 rate and will receive the text after that point.

Dang. Guess I'll be checking out Mint or Google Fi.

We are on Visible for 3 years now, no issues. Travel to the midwest, west and south with no problem. 4 lines for $100 monthly with free hot spot for every line. Before Visible, we were on Cricket. Love Cricket also but we switch to Visible because they had some really good deals at the time when we switch 3 years ago and haven't looked back. I think either one is fine but because Visible is great just like Cricket, we just haven't switch because Cricket don't have any promotion that would make me a MAJOR GO, not yet.

Thanks for the heads up guys. After my cricket credit runs out I think its time to finally move.

I went on ATT's site and saw that 5 lines at 5gb is still 90, which sounds pretty good to me. But I could potentially put 9 lines together which would be a better deal than cricket ever gave me!
