Great price but so not recommended because of the app that controls it. The latest update made this robot basically useless. Just read the reviews for the ihome clean app on whatever app store you use.

Unfortunately, I'm losing a lot of faith with iHome products. Just recently, iHome turned off the smart home functionality for all their smart plugs making them useless. It worked well for the past 4 years but now it's simply paper weights.

Huh, the latest update has been fantastic both ours. I will say that I did have to reset and re-add one of them to the app, but it picked up right where it left of with settings, map, and no-go zones.

Have this exact one cleaning as we speak. Highly recommend.

The app update has made it much better and more user friendly, though I did need to reset zones.

Only downside is no Alexa/Google integration to easily say "Alexa, clean the family room." That being said, I just setup different areas on schedules or use the iHome app.

Just opened ours today. First impression: very thorough cleaning. LiDAR is awesome.. mapped our whole house on the first run. Connected to dual band router easily. App works great.. you can even watch where it is in real-time. I'm happy so far, especially for the price! Much better than our old bump and turn Deebot. Self emptying is a game changer. I can actually schedule it to run now and not have to remember to empty it every time
Ditto on first impression. It maneuvers as well as my RoboRock and the dust/debri are picked up well (tile floor).
Love the self-emptying feature. Now can run the RoboRock on another level which does not have as much dust/debri.

Yeah definitely does not allow multiple maps. A little annoying but unless you use specific area cleaning then it doesn't really matter. Both floors we use it for we intend to clean the entire area.

I figure this out by retrieving the map from "setting"-"clean history", where saved our the finished tasks with the maps. I took the robot off to a different floor. When done, just took it back to the floor with the station, reuse the map and it will find the station very well.

I did same. It can be used on level 2

I have pets and people with long hair. I'll still have to detangle hairs from it after every use.
So I'm not interested in paying for bags for the self-emptying feature.
I'm sure it's a fine vac, but neither of these will work for our house.
That doesn't explain anything.

Has anyone else successfully placed the charging dock/dust bin on carpet area? On hard floor it docks in the first try, while on carpet, it comes extremely close, aligns properly, just touches the charging pins, and then backs off. Keeps repeating it for 3 to 4 times and then just wanders off. Tried multiple places on the carpet, and some of them have vast open area (more than 5 ft in the front, and 2 ft on the side).

Also found a year-old video showing the exact same problem. You would think a firmware upgrade would have fixed it by now.

It can definitely be used like this, also a great feature for if your map gets messed up, can easily just load it from a previous cleaning

It specifically states in the manual not to set it on carpet. I placed mine on carpet with a piece of cardboard under it for now, I'll probably find a little rubber mat or something to replace the cardboard.

Ah, I see. It probably does not align vertically well to fit the suction hole when on carpet. Makes sense. I can try that trick too. Thanks.

Purchased and used for roughly 5 days. 2/5 stars. Don't waste your money.

App: 10/10
Dock: 8/10
Unit: 8/10
Cleaning: 5/10
Using it: 9/10
Loudness: 7/10

We decided to let it run on our house for 5 days on max suction. Which is 90% hardwood and 10% tile. After five days we decided to run our ECOVACS DEEBOT N79S to see how the new unit compared, the Deebot was full in less than 30 minutes.

because the electrical contact of the dock is too high, you need to add a paper at the back of the dock to make it tilt downward.

I bought a couple of ihome smart plugs a while back and was also disappointed at that announcement. Horrible way to "sunset" a product by virtually cutting it off so abruptly.
