just get the heatsink version, only 20 bucks more, same coupon code applies

3rd party one on amazon will cost like 12 bucks anyway.

Seems like a good deal. Use a heatsink and you'll be set for a PS5. Reckon I can get it cheaper, as they keep going lower and lower, as some things do.

I've seen 2TB SSDs go for around $180. If you're buying this for a PS5, you can get a way better deal than this. Get something with a speed around 3600 or even lower and you won't be disappointed. Sony's 5500 speed recommendation is bs. There is absolutely no noticeable difference with a slower one. I have a 1TB WD Black SN750 SE with a speed of 3600 and it loads everything just as fast as the stock one. I got mine for $75. No games use the full bandwidth of SSDs yet and they very likely won't for the entirety of the PS5 generation. Games load super fast as it is. You can get a heat sink for $10-$20. You could have the fastest SSD out there and your games would only load 2 or 3 seconds faster than mine, because it's a software thing, rather than hardware. The games aren't told to use all the extra speed. Like how the PS5 is powerful enough to play any PS4 game at at least 60fps, but almost all of them still run at 30fps, because they haven't been optimized to take advantage of the PS5's power.

I honestly don't know why people are downvoting but they are correct in what they say about the drive....for now. I don't know if the 750 would be good for the life of the PS5 but the copy times are SLOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW but other than that it works. Here is a decent article on it - https://www.eurogamer.net/digital...ystation-5
Would I buy the 750 over this one? NO I would definitely go for the faster drive just to make sure I wont have to bother changing it down the road.....but that's me, you may just want to save a buck now and deal with it later if you have to...all good!

I think that is the addiction some people have. Essentially window shopping. I suppose the best way to save 100% is to not ever spend any money though 🤷🏻

I am waiting for gas and food to get cheaper but it's not. What am I doing wrong? What's this bullet I need to bite, I don't have one it seems.

I use one one of these as my OS drive and have 3 other NVME SSDs in my system (Corsair MP600, Sabrent Rocket QLC, Silicon Power A60)This is by far the fastest, hottest, and most expensive drive in my system. However I find it useful for my needs. I spent $200 on it.

They made a speed recommendation for a reason, and you have no clue whether or not late generation games will make use of the bandwidth. Almost every game available today was made with HDDs in mind. The early exclusives like Ratchet & Clank (rumored to have a cancelled PS4 version) and Returnal (PC release incoming) aren't enough to go on. The Digital Foundry article that did the tests even recommends going with a drive that meets the Sony standard and not a slower one. The price difference isn't even that big to bother taking a chance on it so may as well get a drive at/above the listed specs.

Do I need heatsink for pc use?

Why don't they just install the heatsink if everyone should have it?
