Yes, I replaced it with the 1TB Samsung below. It recognized the drive no problem and I was able to install the Samsung NVMe driver. Keep in mind though, you have to change the controller in the BIOS from Intel RST to AHCI in order to use the Samsung NVMe driver.

Ordered early 7/6 shipped evening 7/7. FedEx ground from TX to MA, expected delivery is 7/14. Not in a rush but I've had items from China using EMS take less than the 8 days for this to arrive... yesterday got the 8GB Crucial RAM from Amazon ordered 7/7. Guess I've been spoiled by Prime shipping.

i ordered this desktop and kind of wish I got the i5 for $100 more (faster processor and more drive space). But i3 is perfectly fine for my everyday use, added an extra 8gb ram and don't hear any fan noise (or it doesn't bother me?).

One thing that kind of bothered me is I have two monitors plugged into the onboard video card and my second monitor most times doesn't get picked up automically when i turn on the PC, I have to unplug the hdmi and replug it in to have it show. Anyone with this problem? Any ideas why it's happening? Thanks!

I've noticed this with FedEx ground. Shipments from most places are at least as fast as UPS, but certain routes have long delays as the norm. And of course the stuff you want quick always has the delay.

Regarding Prime, yes it's definitely a game changer. I find myself ordering the vast majority of day-to-day things I need that way, from super glue to ibuprofen to Ziplock bags to motorcycle batteries, and Amazon customer service has been A+ for me. They occasionally make a mistake but always make it good immediately. I bought the Levi's 501 jeans the other day; no way I could get those locally for even double the $18 price. My Amazon orders page says I've placed 28 orders in the last 3 months, so about 112 orders annually, or about $1 per order for prime 2-day delivery. Worth every penny, especially with their better pricing on most things than I'll find around town.

Still haven't received it now expected 7/15 end of day, so will be almost 10 days from order. It was stuck in Texas for 5 days and now stuck in PA. Frustratingly slow. I ordered from them Sunday, July 3. They shipped on the 5th after the holiday and it arrived the morning of the 7th via FedEx. But I'm only one state away from Texas. Prime day may have contributed to your freight delay; I'm sure that all the carriers are backed up with Prime shipments at the moment.

Guess that makes sense, also have a UPS package delayed by 2 days. Though I definitely understand why Amazon built up their own shipping service that's already bigger than UPS and supposedly USPS as well.

Yes, mine is whatever came with the machine (don't recall) and then I bought Crucial off Amazon searching for "DDR4 3200MHz CL22".

Thoughts on this machine for office workstations? I have about 5 computers I need to replace, 6-8yo i5s with spinners. I do need windows pro, so that adds $100 to the price as these come with home. I haven't seen anything better than this at $300 with w pro.

Any better options for us with Windows 10/11 pro?

If I was deploying these in an office environment, I'd go with the i5 units and upgrade them to 16GB of ram right out of the gate. You can also find Win10 Pro cheaper and I'd do a fresh install on each one. Little more work/money but it sounds like this office doesn't upgrade very often, so these should be good for many years if you do it right.

Just my $0.02.

I can't get gray market windows for this business. I am not aware of a cheaper option for fully legit windows, than just upgraded through Microsoft for $100/computer.

Perhaps someone can help me with this question. The Acer Aspire i3 versus i5 - why does the i3 have a higher GHZ and does it matter in real life? I am guessing the higher threads and cores help the i5, but does it matter in real life for surfing, media consumption, and light gaming? Assuming identical hardware in the i3 and i5. Thank you.
