4 people? C'mon...this isn't your permanent residence, GlampingBoi.. Easily sleep a family of 6. Or as the other guy said, 12 Peter Dinklages. Could fit 3 queen mattresses easily, andl leave plenty of space for your makeup, camping bidet, and portable hot tub.

It's a rule of thumb that you should half the number of people a tent claims will fit, to get the number of people it can fit comfortably (assuming you don't need any actual storage space inside). It shows that it will fit four queen mattresses, that's eight total. If you need space for a suitcase, cooler, whatever, you still have space for three queen mattresses. For a family of five, this should be plenty big.

Doesn't look sturdy. When buying tents always divide the given number by 2. This is good for prolly 8 or even less considering the design.

They assume that everyone is sleeping next to each other. They don't assume air mattresses, cots, or gear.
These measurements are accurate for small tents.

If it says it sleeps one, it will easily fit one avg size adult.
If it says it sleeps two, then two people can lay next to each other in a small tent.

But these large "glamping" tents confuse people. I am 100% sure that 16 adults could lay down in this tent without touching each other. Which is what they are measuring. They aren't measuring how many people could comfortably live in this tent. They are literally counting how many people could pack into this thing. But most people buying a tent this large want to bring an King size air mattress and have space for their gear. For that type of person, most tents will now tell you how many mattresses will fit in the tent and WHERE they will fit. You could use that layout to make your determination.

You say that, but just look at clothing or shoe sizes. 34" waist should be pretty consistent but often not. And don't even look at women's sizes, it's the wild wild west. Pretty sure it's cubits or something.
