No it doesn't. For many decades, hybrid has meant tires between the width of a road bike and a mountain bike.

In the automotive world? Of course. But if that's what you think here, you must be new to bikes. What you're thinking about is referred to as an "electric bike."

Uh, no. A hybrid bicycle is an established moniker in the bicycle community for a bike with an upright seating position and somewhat wider road tires that allow gentle offroad travel (crushed gravel, packed dirt, etc).

You are conflating e-bikes and hybrid automobiles.

Decent price for shimano components, aluminum body and disc brakes. Boss bikes are a child brand of Eagle bikes which i think make some pretty decent bikes if that helps anyone.

Edit: My bad. These arent made by Eagle, but Infinity. https://www.infinitycycleworks.co...brid-bike/ unsure of their quality.

This brand could also easily be accused of abusing the term "hybrid", as it more commonly evokes a crossover of pedal and electric.

Not a lot of trust up front from a lesser known brand.

Here's a review stating that they've been down to $219: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgimq2j3P4I

Anyone know how much assembly this entails? Can I knock this out in under an hour myself?

Can't speak for this one specifically but most shipped bikes are pretty easy and usually comes with the brake/shift lines, front fork, rear wheel, crank, etc. all attached to the frame. You usually just need to slide on the front wheel, slide on the stem/handles, slide in the seat, and screw on the pedals. Make sure the fork is facing the correct way and that the left pedal is tightened counterclockwise. The respective pedals always tighten in the direction of pedaling. Also be sure to not cross thread anything.

The more complicated part is usually making sure the brakes and shifts work properly. Watch youtube videos or take it to a bike shop to ensure everything is aligned and shifting. If it's not indexed properly, shifts can be rough or chain can slide off.

We'll been eyeing these since the pandemic but they've gone in-and-out of stock. Finally saw them in store (Azusa, SoCal) but it was at the $329.99 price, not $269.99... Frown

I was hoping 700cc would accommodate a 6'6" rider, but it says it's for up to 6'1" maximum.

Has anyone come across deals for very tall folks? XXL-sized bikes?

The term hybrid has been used for these kinds of bikes looong before electric bikes became popular.

FYI, the 700c is referring to the wheel size and 700c is the standard wheel size for road bikes and most hybrids. You would need to look at the size of the bike frame and probably looking for a large or XL frame.

I believe this $70 off just took effect, so if you go back in store you should see the lower price
