3 batteries = 4.5V. You could wire this to be powered by a cheap 5V USB plug and eliminate the batteries.
Couldn't you just use rechargeable batteries?

Thanks OP! Bought couple - too good to pass.

For all the people with concerns - it seems to have sensor which means you can also keep this in cark closets and battery will last long; Unless of course if you spend a lot of time in dark closet ;-)

Hmm..u sold me on it. Worse comes, it goes back.

There is an argument to be made that battery powered versus rechargeable is preferred in the event of an emergency. Also, this is a great deal and if it is not bright enough, you can simply return it.

Unless you're on top of it the batteries you have stored away 6 years ago may not work for any length of time. With a rechargeable light you are more likely to have a power bank for your smartphone that would be able to charge your rechargeable light. On top of that individuals that own cordless power tools would most likely have a plethora of batteries laying around with an adapter for charging devices

For 10 bucks these will be more than worth it as small tent camping lights. Not rechargeable means no dead rechargeable battery to worry about, id rather pack alkalines (i remove them from the fixture if im putting gear away for the season) that i know will be just as good in a few months when i go to use them.

Bought one will use the motion sensor to scare the deer. If not it comes with 6 batteries that should worth few bucks.

The other thing thats easy if already use small lithium rechargeables would be to put a 14500 in with two blanks, it would be ~4.4v peak and more than enough to keep these low intensity LEDs going for a long time.

Probably for first timeDIYers.
Using their example photos, someone under the sink who has never worked on it before might want a youtube video up demonstrating the repair.

I'm going to wrap the tripod legs around my arm and use it as a flashlight/costume.

Wonder about the 300 lumen though, is that while both are on? Is it like 200 for the big one and 100 for the little one?

Edit: Small one is up to 150 lumen, big one 300 max.

Non-rechargeable batteries are better. I can just pop a new one in whenever instead of waiting for it to charge. Not a fan of one of the lights needing D size though.
