Based on current info 4090 is out first then 4080 and then lower tier cards in following months until end of 2022 if the rumor timeline is correct.
Taking account the TDP of those 4080 and above will > 450w, massive cooling solutions, inflation, the msrp might won't be nice, and potential need to upgrade psu.
Even if so, $360 3060 Ti and $630 3080 still a great value to keep for years if you gaming 4k or 1080p.

Not sure why people are still buying these. Some aib cards are close to this price and offer better clocks and cooling than these founder. It should be the lower price without the best buy card. Evga have their ftw3 ultra gaming bstock pretty much at the msrp of the 3080 on Wednesday after associate code.

From what I understand the new AMD RNA3 cards will be far more energy efficient then 4000 series. 4000 series is rumored to launch next month to beat AMD to market, with the new AMD cards out on Sept/Oct. might be worth waiting to see real world comparisons between the different cards. Plus, if you are like me and don't want to upgrade to a new power supply, the AMD RNA3 cards could be the best option if upgrading this year
