No need to. Apple doesn't verify edu status.

Indeed but Costco also has it for $569. No brainer for me with the additional warranty and Costco cash back. Offer is expiring today.

On my way to pick up one!
Base m1 MBA???? Costco? Do you have a link?

Sorry for the confusion, this is for a Mac Mini M1 from Costco as that is not included in the Apple back to school discount.

I guess 1 extra year is worth $10 even though new Mac mini will release this year

The M1 MacBook Air for under $800 is a bargain but I would disagree about the M2. The new MacBook Air M2 is very well worth the price with an all new design and larger screen. Especially with Education discount and $100 gift card. The MacBook Pro 13" M2 is not worth the money as the performance is minimum upgrade from the M1. Buy the M2 Air or spend a little more and go for the Pro 14".

If I buy an M2 MBA with student discount plus $150GC, a 8/512 would be $1499 - $150 (edu 10% discount) - $150 GC (applied to the purchase) = $1199?

Do I have to pay retail at the apple store to qualify? Or can I buy one at Micro Center and still get the gift card?

Doesn't Apple verify your student status ? They could possibly revoke the gift card?
Nope, at least not lately that I've seen. I looked at the terms 2 years ago and it included small children, not that they were checking. Lots of places don't anymore or just don't care. They just would do something (or not allow it to go through) if you were buying multiple every year.

I think you will pay $1499 - $150 (edu 10% discount) = $1349 and you get a $150GC for future purchase

"K–12 - An employee of a public or private K-12 institution in the Qualifying Country is eligible, including homeschool teachers. "

So K-12 students are not eligible? If a HS kid went to the apple store in person, is there any chance they can get in on this offer?
