Great deal! Blade HQ is totally legit. 20cv is amazing steel. And the Bugout can easily fit into any carry situation, you're getting a solid Benchmade product with guarantees. The aftermarket for Bugout scales is huge too if you don't like the g-10 and want to customize.

Is the black blade option the same price or similar? I just emailed them to find out but it looks like they are not open on the weekends.

It's about $10 more when you do the same method of going through checkout.

Best knife I've ever owned. Beat it up, sent it back to Benchmade for $6 or so in shipping, they sent it back to me sharpened like new. I bought another knife from them (M390 blade) with the black coating, and while it's a better *looking* knife in my opinion, I far and away prefer the satin finish like this one. Also the 20CV steel, it definitely retains its edge/sharpness better than my M390 (also great, just not quite as great) from Benchmade.

I know $145 seems like a lot for a knife, but I keep mine in my pocket every day and use it all the time for simple stuff, and wouldn't look back. It's a pleasure to use and makes cutting up big cardboard boxes so they can fit in my recycle bin easy (or at least much easier) work.

These were marketed as limited edition. Are they going to compensate those who bought it at higher prices because the appeal of LE? But these are great knives anyway.

Yup, don't skimp on an EDC. You'll use it. Don't do cardboard as that will dull the blade fast. If you have a sharpener, great. If you are doing cardboard, use a box/razor knife.

I keep reading and hearing "use a box cutter on cardboard." I'm not going to have an EDC along with a box cutter in my pocket. It's either/or. Years ago, I carried a spyderco with a half serrated blade. Great knife, but hard to sharpen with serrations. I switched to using cheap box cutters laying around and I've not carried a knife since. One of these days, I'm putting some money down on a good EDC like this one instead of relying on cheap disposable box cutter blades.

For the knife enthusiast buy this. For 80% utility of this blade and the cheapies in us and on this forum who would never even consider spending 100+ on a blade, buy a replica of this knife on AliExpress for $20. Benchmade cost so much because they're quality through and through, the labor is more, and that's what they want to charge for a government contract of these across a product line on the tax payers dime and for commercial use. and don't pay attention to the haters saying you're taking money away from the manufacturer and hurting their business for buying a replica, you would never spends this type of money with the mfg anyway. haters gonna hate otherwise because you're taking away from their "flex" of brand recognition. as long as you know that you're getting less with the replica.. no harm no foul. fyi axis lock patent expired

I'll get flamed for this, but the reality is inflation exists because consumers allow themselves to be price gouged. if more people prioritized "saving", gauged "value" better and do away with "flexing" brands for prestige... it wouldn't be such a problem.

don't get me wrong, I love quality product like knipex versus harbor freight.... but harbor freight products do have their place for non tradesman or who need certain utility on the cheap.

Got this last sale. Very nice for what it is. Replaced the green bits with silver titanium off AliExpress.

Hard to justify the cost when a Rat Model 2 with D2 is $40. But, we're all knife nerds here and it's a deal on a Benchmade.

This and the black coated version have been on sale for the last week, the black coated one is $10 more if I'm correct. I bought the latter last year on sale and it has been a great knife, added the GlowRhino tritium scales to it.

The 20cv sharpens easily, holds an edge well, and isn't prone to corrosion. Probably my favorite knife steel. I keep it sharp on my work sharp field sharpner, real easy.
