2) This particular model will sell out at this price, then some time will pass before it comes back in stock. So announcing it on SlickDeals helps those looking for this knife.
3) Compared with other configurations of the Bugout including the upgraded steel or scales, this is a pretty good deal. My daily-carry is a Bugout CF Elite with lesser S30V steel and molded carbon-fiber-reinforced nylon scales, and it costs $157 vs. this model with nicer steel and G10 scales.

The 20cv sharpens easily, holds an edge well, and isn't prone to corrosion. Probably my favorite knife steel. I keep it sharp on my work sharp field sharpner, real easy.
I was impressed with Benchmade's service. I sent mine back with a loose thumb stud for sharpening and they sent me back a brand new blade.
