For us knife enthusiasts, this is a really good price for what you get, trust me, it's on the cheap side compare to what's out there. 20cv plus g10 in a bugout. I'll take it!

For the knife enthusiast buy this. For 80% utility of this blade and the cheapies in us and on this forum who would never even consider spending 100+ on a blade, buy a replica of this knife on AliExpress for $20. Benchmade cost so much because they're quality through and through, the labor is more, and that's what they want to charge for a government contract of these across a product line on the tax payers dime and for commercial use. and don't pay attention to the haters saying you're taking money away from the manufacturer and hurting their business for buying a replica, you would never spends this type of money with the mfg anyway. haters gonna hate otherwise because you're taking away from their "flex" of brand recognition. as long as you know that you're getting less with the replica.. no harm no foul.

I'll get flamed for this, but the reality is inflation exists because consumers allow themselves to be price gouged. if more people prioritized "saving", gauged "value" better and do away with "flexing" brands for prestige... it wouldn't be such a problem.

don't get me wrong, I love quality product like knipex versus harbor freight.... but harbor freight products do have their place for non tradesman or who need certain utility on the cheap.
They also have really high quality knockoffs too. I got a Chris Reeves Sebenza 25 for $60, five years ago. Put it next to my buddies real one, and we couldn't find a difference other than his had some wear from use.

Damn, I lost my 940. I was hoping to get another one on sale. But, in your guys opinion, which one is better? Bugout or 940?

Have three Bugouts. Great knife if you want something lightweight and easy to carry with a very functional blade.

What's a good knock off blade to get? I bought a 940 a while ago, but lost it. Don't want to pay another $200 for an EDC. Although, the 940 was really nice.

Zero Tolerance is better...didn't Benchmade help the police melt down guns? Anti 2A!
Yep it's true. They neglected to take out the bullets so it went off and shot down a bald eagle which then fell on the Statue of Liberty causing the statue to collapse. What's worst is when they were clearing the debris they found a "Made in China" sticker on the Statue of Liberty. Very embarrassing for Benchmade.

In a bugout scenario, society has likely collapsed. Will we value a Benchmade knife at an equivalently high Benchmade price in the post-apocalyptic barter market? I'm kinda leaning towards no, so caveat emptor.

You do realize that the guns they "melted down" were going to be destroyed anyway right? That's a thing a lot of police departments do. Do you expect them to have a yard sale or something to sell confiscated weapons back to the public?

Here in my city, the police take their confiscated weapons, drugs, etc. to the local pipe foundry to be destroyed. I guess by your logic, I should boycott all the products made by that that foundry too since they are surely anti-2A.
