Had to look up what nugget ice cubes were. We bought my SIL the Frigidaire one for around $100 but those cubes have holes in them. I like those as well. Are nugget ice worth 5x the price? Probably not. Maybe I'll see it in the store and I'll buy it.

I have this machine and it's the best ice (if you're an ice cruncher).

I just bought this one. I had an Igloo model that made the bullet type ice that died. This one make good solid cubes.

Also not the type of ice this one makes, similar to an earlier post. This makes "soft" ice like you would get at a Sonic or Chick-fil-a. It melts quicker because of that softness but is easier to "chew" on for those that like to eat ice. I will say if you like chewing on ice you might want to get your iron levels checked though since that can be a symptom.

I was just pointing out that it was a good ice make and it's half the price. I only use ice because I want my drink cold. Chewing on ice never crossed my mind.

This is definitely not the icemaker you want unless you want that soft chewable ice. It's cheaper than any other machine that makes this kind but still way more expensive than a regular icemaker... we have one (v1) because my wife loved to chew on it and Sonic was getting expensive before she got the iron infusions.

Just got ours this week from Costco. It's much louder than I was expecting. The ice is top notch though. My kids are ice chewers so we needed something softer.
