As thespacecowboy mentioned above, only 1080 over RTSP for Blue Iris. If the 1080 version is cheaper, get it for BI instead.

I'm looking for the most basic outdoor camera to check and see if my dog is at the back door ready to come in. Anyone think this is worth it for that?
I have 2 sets of outdoor outlets outside the house. 4 of these cameras. One camera's cord is attached to a 25ft usb extension cable to reach. Another camera is connected to an outlet in my garage, I used a flat usb cable and it fits underneath the garage door.

If you're afraid someone's going to be able to just unplug them, you could drill a hole into your house, plug them in inside the house and seal the hole with silicone caulk etc. if you purchased a POE NVR system, you would have to somehow get the cables to the NVR box which would require drilling a hole into the house anyway. Unless it's a wireless system, then you would either still have to power the cameras with a cord or worry about battery life etc.

Yep. I have several of these and they are great. The image quality is great too with the 2K version.

Thanks. In my case I ended up using multiple Indoor cameras and have them looking out windows. I also picked up a wireless S40 cam for an area without a window. I was just curious to know how some of you handled the wiring on the outdoor cams. Thanks again for your suggestion!

Thanks I put them on my shed and gate. I bought the outdoor electric junction box with a deep cover that allows the USB plug to fit. Works perfect.

Just a heads up. If those cameras had infrared night vision, they would not be able to see through glass at night.

I've had them up for over a year. They see through glass surprisingly well, even at night. Not perfect, but not bad at all.

Same. It's also pretty easy to replace an outlet cover (indoor or outdoor) with one that has USB plugs included, no unnecessary wiring needed. Also, as long as people don't mess with it too much, you can get the flat USB cables that can fit under closed windows so you can still plug an outdoor camera, inside.

These have Wi-Fi. Wired just mean they need power via a wire and don't use a battery. I have two and they are great

Got one last time and it's been working really well. I've turned off notifications and just plan to check if something happens. For the price is worth it. Tempted to get another.
