yes but those cards aren't really limited by it, only maybe 2-3% performance difference between pcie 3.0 and 4.0

Best price for nib that I've seen. Used market is still going 200-230, so not really worth it over this.

Is something like this going to be one of the better values to performance right now? Looking at adding a well supported eGPU to my Intel Mac.

Edit: After doing my own research this card or the 6600 XT indeed seem to have the consensus of being the best value for low to mid pricing.

Quote from SiennaStep1941 :
Know that all RX 6600 series (6600, 6600 XT, 6650 XT) all use PCIe x8, so this is not recommended for people using PCIe 3.0 platforms such as B450 / X470 and older, Z490 / B460 and older, Intel Core 10th Gen and older, AMD Ryzen 2000 and older. You will be limited to PCIe 3.0 x8, which has the same bandwidth as PCIe 2.0 x16.

Exactly this comment. If you do something crazy like load 4k ultra textures you will run into trouble, but you are well outside the card's market at that point.

Can this play the latest games on decent settings or should I wait for prices to come down further?

All games at 1080p with decent settings, even avg over 100fps 1440p medium settings in all but the most demanding games.

But yes, if you can wait, prices will continue to drop.
