Depends on what you prioritize. If you have multiple HDMI 2.1 gaming consoles (PS5, XSX, PC) I'd go with the C1. If none of that matters to you, wait on the Sony. The Sony supports HDMI 2.1, but it's limited to HDMI ports 3(eARC), and 4. If you plan on using a sound bar or AVR, you'll either have to get a HDMI 2.1 compliant receiver for HDMI 2.1 passthrough, get a HDMI 2.1 switch, or run your audio through optical (not ideal). The Sony 77" will have better picture quality and it has a glossy finish unless the smaller A80Js that have a semi matte screen. Enjoy whatever you decide to get.

I bought a 65 inch OLED years ago, but returned it because I liked my bigger 75 inch Sony LED more. I always told myself if the 77 inch hit around this price that I would buy, but now I'm afraid I would miss my current Sony 85 inch. Decisions decisions. And then there's the price difference, my Sony 900 series 85 inch was $800 less than this, and while it has an excellent picture, I know the OLED would have a little better of a picture.

Regardless, this is a great price for a 77 inch OLED

I understand this is a really good deal but with the improvements in brightness in the C2 I'm wanting to maybe spend the extra $1k. Brightness really has me concerned especially

coming from a 2019 65" Vizio px that will do 2800nits. Dropping to 700nits really has me nervous. C1 is 250nits in sd gaming, post of y'all won't even buy a laptop when it's a smoking deal with 250nits. Am I missing something here? Is c2 not worth extra $1k for the 1,000ish nits?

So i paid, with taxes, $2416 at Buydig with 4 year warranty. Verde offered me $2298 no warranty though. Costco is $2546 with 3/5 year warranty and $100 streaming credit…..I think I'm ok with my purchase, right? I can't think clearly at this point. Also could save 10% at Amazon using my Rewards card but their warranty is $189 and is terrible (doesn't cover cracked screen etc unlike Buydig's)

After 16 months, this is my stop. Replacing a 55" CX in a large living room with tons of windows. For those concerned, the sunlight did not make this tv look bad at all. Just the puny size 😝.

I've yet to see the Sony 77 on sale, I wonder why? Seems like LG has been discounting them, but not so much on the larger Sony tvs.

I was in the same boat as your scenario but I switched to A80J 77 inch from 85 X90CH and i love the picture quality of the A80J especially in Dolby vision. The smaller screen size was bothering for about a week and I forgot about it.

Why is anyone getting this through Buydig?

I'm genuinely curious. It's cheaper with no tax for most of us on verde.

Was just googling about the CPS warranty, and it sounds like it's complete garbage.

Is there something I'm missing?

Best offer I got from Verde was $2298 with just the basic 1 year limited warranty . Buydig was just over $100 more , all in, with 4 year warranty. I wanted some protection on this. I have the 65" C1 and it is a bit unnerving how thin the screen is. That was my thinking at least. I also feel that all warranties are crapped on it seems. But, at least on paper, the Buydig warranty seems to check all the boxes for me.
