Depends on what you prioritize. If you have multiple HDMI 2.1 gaming consoles (PS5, XSX, PC) I'd go with the C1. If none of that matters to you, wait on the Sony. The Sony supports HDMI 2.1, but it's limited to HDMI ports 3(eARC), and 4. If you plan on using a sound bar or AVR, you'll either have to get a HDMI 2.1 compliant receiver for HDMI 2.1 passthrough, get a HDMI 2.1 switch, or run your audio through optical (not ideal). The Sony 77" will have better picture quality and it has a glossy finish unless the smaller A80Js that have a semi matte screen. Enjoy whatever you decide to get.

t is. But I went the Costco route just for customer service, warranty and For $20, the unbox and put it on the stand for me. Well worth it, no other capable person to help.
It's a beast of a TV. I had help, but just a heads up for anyone who gets this, buy and extra six pack and a pizza and invite a friend over to help get it situated or mounted.

Bought a 65 inch Tv from buydig few years back. Biggest mistake. Tv had corner light bleed. 10% restocking + return shipping.

Ended up having samsung replaced the panel which caused other issues.

No more korean brand appliances or electronic. Just buy from costco for piece of mind.

Agreed. Costco makes everything so easy and hassle free. Ended up ordering from Costco for the warranty and customer service.

Well dangit... I might have to try that if I can get to a BB before my order finishes processing/ships.

I don't have a Costco nearby so I could have tried Best Buy, but BuyDig refunded me $120 for not canceling the order.

Therefore, the total is $2079 which I doubt Best Buy could match or anybody else for that matter.

I am a little worried about any potential problems though Frown

You got a good deal, don't stress it! Enjoy the OLED goodness! Basically it break down (I think) that if I got the $120 back from Buydig, it would be $2079+$79 warranty+$138 tax = $2296 vs $2546 at Costco including tax, which includes 5 year warranty and $100 streaming credit. Both are really good deals for a 77" C1. Just depends if you want to save money upfront or spend more and maybe have some peace of mind in warranty. Would be interesting to see the breakdown here of which way people went in terms of this deal. I went Costco based on location and customer service but also question whether spending less now was the better move. Regardless, appreciate all the advice and help here as we all crunch numbers on this….

Just when I was clearing the bills😵

In advice, should I jump for the LG? The TV is going to be mostly for entertainment. I do expect to game on there for myself, but mostly it will be for Plex and TV. There is a Soundtouch 300 sound bar that utilizes ARC and eventually will be a PS5 and Xbox X connected to it. I do wish these TVs had the one connect box idea Samsung had for cable management. That's my next challenge cable management

Don't forget to use PayPal and pay with Discover. They are giving 5%cb with a $75 maximum. On Cashback sites you can get 1% cb as well, which is $22 before tax. An easy $97 off.

I agree. At some point, they are going to have to empty inventory. C2 models already here, and with inflation and recession talk, people are already stopping to spend on big ticket items or wants. Whenever the clearance happens, it will be quick and over before you know it. I have my slickdeals alerts setup. Lol

This is exactly what I'm waiting for! I am hoping for inventory glut along with graphics cards!

You are A80J then

I wish the 83 wasnt the a90J line, the premium there is huge vs the C1 to A80 at the 77 size.

You can get an 83 c1 today for $3400ish, the A90 is north of 4k still
Sony always prices its TVs higher than LG (except during big sales events like Black Friday)

Right now 65" C1 was on sale for $1300 (Brandsmart, Best Buy Matched)

The Sony 65" A80J is double - $2500 (despite the 55" on sale for $1000)

For me the Sony has better picture and color reproduction so if you care more about shows/movies/cable vs gaming (which is just as solid on Sony) go for the A80J
