Dang.. wish we had this stuff when I was a kid. Wait.. nevermind, I would of lost an eye or something. But these are so cool, and it's so cool these are so accessible now for kids (hopefully with some kind of supervision) or for martial arts practice.

Description says they're made from polypropylene, which is a rigid plastic (think like the cap on a plastic soda bottle). If you're a kid getting whacked with one might not feel great but shouldn't cause any lasting damage. My only question is the tip of the blade looks to be pretty pointy. I could see that being a concern, especially for smaller kids. I bought the other sword that was posted a couple days ago and haven't received it yet but my plan is to let my kids play with it with some rules and supervision at first. I'd be a little more weary of this one but it looks pretty cool so I'm sure my kids would love them. Use your best judgement. They're $8 at the end of the day so they can be donated / regifted if you aren't comfortable.

They're entirely blunt.

My 4yo put me in the hospital with a hyphemia with a blunt end light saber. Eye still doesn't work quite right in the sun.
Always thought parents were just trying to spoil the fun with the "all fun and games till someone looses and eye", but after almost loosing an eye (well at least sight) I am a strong supporter of eye protection during sword battles.
Don't stop battling just watch the sensitive parts.

Sorry to hear that; hope your eye sight restores to normal. This is one thing that I am always worrying about in the back of my head while purchasing any kind of shooting toys, swords etc.

It probably never will come back to normal, but I got another.
