I already have this bike. A few observations. The specs are almost exactly the same as the Framed Rendal:

The brakes are Tektro M275 hydraulic.
The headset and bottom bracket are sealed bearing.
The hubs don't have branding, but I believe they are Joytech hubs, not Formula hubs as stated on the manufacturer website.
The rear wheel is a freewheel, not a freehub.
The drivetrain did need adjustment on my bike out of the box.

Hopefully this helps
what you mean drivetrain needed adjustments? i only ride bmx that work till now

Mine said the same thing "Ready to Go" since nearly 2 days ago - but never had a fedex tracking number.

It might vary on the size of bike ordered.

For the 20" (which I am really salty about as I ordered a day before you all) the virtual assistant said it was backordered. CS through text also said it is shown as backordered with no date for when they might get more.
The rep I spoke said some warehouses that serve a certain region are out of stock of some sizes. That's why it seems like some folks who ordered first are backordered and others who ordered later have shipped.

If this one came with hydraulic brakes, it would be a crazy insane deal. Just the hydraulic brakes alone is almost $100.
This would be insane if it does. I've looked at buying them for my ebikes and it's expensive.

Still no tracking for me. I'm in WI if that matters at all.

From the bad photo looks like hydraulic to me. But could just be a stock photo. Then again might be real in this crazy pandemic economy. Equally crazy to the $400 Saris H3 indoor bike trainer deal. And that insane deal was indeed caused by pandemic (sad story [dcrainmaker.com] really). If this does come with Tektro hydraulic brakes, this would be the most insane (mass available new) bike deal in recent history.

I already have this bike. At home. I can confirm 100% that it has Tektro hydraulic brakes.

Absolutely crazy at this price! The brakes and tires cost more than the whole bike.

Definitely a great price for this bike. Here's some more info:

The stock crankset is a Shimano FC-TY301. To do a 1X drivetrain conversion, you could either use a square taper crankset or convert to hollowtech or another style. I think the stock crankset calls for a 123mm bottom bracket so I think that is what the the bottom bracket spindle length is. If this is correct, the Shimano FC-M361 could possibly be used to convert to 1X without upsetting the chainline.

The grips are comfortable, but they do slip a lot. If you plan do do more than casual riding, you may want to consider changing them.

The pedals are VP-536, just like on the Trek Marlin. They are servicable but I would recommend changing them if you plan to do more than casual riding.

The seat, in my opinion, seems comfortable enough for casual riding.

I highly recommend bedding the brakes to get good performance out of them.

Unfortunately I didn't get it before OOS as I didn't need another budget bike. But a friend is looking and I should have bought it for him.

If I were a beginner, these are what I would personally do on this bike...

Immediate budget upgrades:
  • Shorter stem <45mm. Wake is ~$10 on Amazon
  • Can't find bar length on this bike but if <700mm, upgrade to >700mm bar. How much wider and rise depend on personal preferences and comfort. Decent budget ones are $20-30 on Amazon
  • Lock-on grips. Personally hate any flared grips, and slip-on's at that. Again personal preference. My favorite budget lock-on grips are $10-15 on Amazon
  • Pedals. Most stock pedals suck. Expensive bikes don't even come with pedals. Budget Fookers are $20-25 on Amazon, basically clones of more expensive pedals
These are all simple upgrades for beginners. Plenty of YT videos on DIY. But if you don't plan on using this bike for its intended purpose -- trail riding, then forget any upgrades and just ride it as-is.
