Stem [amazon.com]
Bar [amazon.com]
Grips [amazon.com]
Pedals [amazon.com]

Be sure to watch YT for installations. Common installation mistakes for above items include over-tightening and tightening wrong direction.

Start with these 2 videos and be patient:

How to Adjust a Front Derailleur [youtu.be]
How to Adjust a Rear Derailleur [youtu.be]

One main reason MTB/gravel riders upgrade to 1x (one by) drivetrain is to simplify the derailleur adjustments. This bike can be upgraded to 1x later, but would require upgrading the rear hub/wheel. There's nothing wrong with 3x drivetrain on this bike. In my opinion, 1x is more of a quality-of-life upgrade, others might tell you 1x also saves weight.

any other thoughts on easy cheap upgrades now that some of you have received your bikes? new to biking here
First, focus on fit, function and comfort.

This is an XC (cross country) bike, thus the long stem and flat bar. For fit, if you feel you are leaning forward too much or stretching to reach the grips, especially if you ordered a size too big, first thing is shorten that stem. It's a $10 fix. If you feel you're still reaching, then change the bar to something with a rise and backsweep. Plenty of options on Amazon for $20 - 30.

For function, ditch those pedals and get something better like Fookers or even cheaper alternatives. Your feet would probably slip off these stock pedals going down trails and you won't enjoy your rides.

For comfort, look at the grips and saddle. These are very personal preferences and only you can tell what's comfortable for you, unless you pay a bike fitter to measure your sit bones and such. I personally hate flared grips that comes on this bike. They flared part is always twisting away and you constantly have to fight it to twist it back in position. This is another easy $10 fix to get some lock-on grips.

I've linked some of my favorite budget parts on Amazon a couple of pages back.

The rest of the bike components are perfectly fine as-is for beginners. Ride it until you feel the need to upgrade to better parts later.

Got one of two that I ordered and it looks like a nice bike. The other one is back ordered for 3-4 weeks and they gave me no indication of that when I placed the order.

Ride it first. Learn what you have and enjoy it. Changing stems etc might be a good idea but understand your baseline first. Also understand how you want to use the bike. The mods you might want if you are going to just ride around town are different vs those for riding off road. Off road mods can depend on the types of trails.

It would be really helpful if someone who is an expert on bikes, and purchased this bike, would make YouTube video to show how to assemble the bike and make or talk about adjustments that can be made.

Not necessary. This bike goes together just like any other mountain bike. Only adjustment beside the seat height is possible adjustments to derailleurs. Just google how to adjust front and rear derailleurs.

Someone already posted that the brakes are Tektro M275 instead of M285, and the wheel hubs are maybe different. I think that was it. You can search his post a few pages back. But one other difference is the frame sizing. All other sites list 15", 17.5", 19" and 21" on the Rendal. This one is listed as 16", 18" and 20". I asked anyone with this bike for frame measurement but I don't think anyone has replied. If there is not already a sticker with the frame size on the seat tube (commonly found on almost all bikes), then simply measure from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the seat tube with a tape measure. I posted this simple video a few pages back but will post it again and hopefully someone could make this super simple measurement: https://youtu.be/O-wqQLbcens

What he said. Especially if you just started cycling or haven't cycled in a long time. Like any sport, our bodies adjust and adapt as we start a new sport. Most likely our body would be in pain in the beginning of any active sports, especially if you're older like me. Then we slowly adapt. If you start swapping bike parts out without giving your body a chance to adapt to cycling, you would have no baseline and have no idea what's doing what. As for pain, legs are not the only place for pain in cycling. Other very common areas of body pain in cycling include butt (of course), back, shoulders, neck and hands. But don't give up after the first few rides. Your body will adjust and you can later swap out bike parts to make it more comfortable for you.

I'll measure mine this evening. My 18" seems overly large for a "medium" frame to me. I was planning on sending my serial # to framed to see if they can verify it's an 18".

Got my 16'' delivered. Measured the frame, it is 16'', no number marked on the seat tube. Expecting 20'' 7/9 according to Fedex tracking.

My front brake needs some adjustment, outside of the wheel disk seems touching the break a tiny bit. Not sure how to adjust that, will do some research later.

--just found some youtube video about the adjustment, seems quite simple:

I just got off the phone with a supervisor about this item, and this deal is officially dead. They are 100% out of stock and will not restock the bike for any size. I asked multiple times if they will restock, even many months out and each time they stated the product is no longer manufactured or distributed. If anyone didn't get a shipping confirmation, you will not get the bike. The supervisor explicitly stated they will not fulfill the order nor offer any alternative replacement for anyone who placed an order. Frustratingly, they also did not offer a refund so I had to put in a dispute with my credit company. If anyone doesn't have a shipment yet, contact the store and demand a refund.

When I saw camping world in the title for this deal, I knew I was gambling on the deal. The local camping world by be has closed and reopened like 3 times in the past 5 years.

I think it's 30 days to dispute with cc? I need to look this up. I hope camping world isn't going out of business. ,

Like others said, most boxed bikes come pretty much the same way with very similar assembly instructions. I searched a bit and this is the closest assembly video I could find on a bike similar to this one, with quick release seat clamp/wheels, and hydraulic brakes. In fact I own the same bike in the video, but it is not my video: https://youtu.be/8Ez3a6aoL8c

For adjustments, you can adjust the saddle height/setback/tilt, shifter and brake lever positions on the bar, centering brake calipers, front and rear derailleurs, and tire pressure. The coiled fork also has adjustment knobs, but they really don't do much. I know as I have this exact fork on 2 other bikes. To make real adjustments on a mountain bike fork, upgrade to an air fork later. As for the other adjustments mentioned above, they each have their own videos on YT...tons of them. Any of those videos would do a better job at explaining than I could. I believe I've already linked to derailleur adjustment videos previously, which would be the most difficult one out of the above.

I received the bike today and I'm stuck during front wheel assembly. I'm not sure if the package is missing anything. But, I am unable to put the front wheel in place. Really appreciate your help on this. TIA
