No, I just bought sync module 2, and you still have to have a subscription to record. It is the exact same as saving a recording to your phone except it is on a less convenient flash drive instead.

This cameras are pain if you don't pay for the subscription. If you are trying to watch the live feed without a subscription it kicks you out after like 30 seconds very annoying.
I have a couple of Cloud Cams that work perfectly on the free plan, but Amazon has decided to brick all of them in December and is offering a single Blink Mini as reimbursement. I feel like this deal is the lube to get us on the Blink cams and pay a subscription for features we currently get for free.

Great deal! $5 cheaper than the 2-pack deal back in May. Woot! had them for $9.99 each earlier this month but listed as used.

I take it their cloud service doesn't offer the free 24 hour storage like some others do? And there is no other way to save files locally (for instance to your desktop) for free outside of purchasing their Blink Sync Module 2?
