Was able to get a 3060 Ti in the cart... don't need it as my 2080 Super is basically identical in every way, but just the feeling of being able to buy one at MSRP was ALMOST enough to get me to pull the trigger.

With crypto crashing and new gpus around the corner, I expect we will have better access to graphics cards soon.
Hoping for a 4080.
Everyone has the same idea as you, they are waiting to buy a 4080.
This is months away until release date, then months until stores get them, then guess what, everyone will want one of these especially scalpers.
The prices will be sky high for probably at least a year.
So think of the 4080 as a card that maybe you can get close to MSRP in probably 1 to 2 years, not something that you will get your hands on when it is released.
This is why if I can find a MSRP 3080 I'll buy it.

It's a good point for sure. Hoping demand will be down a bit this year with crypto.
I'd probably do the same. 3080 FE are sold out. They have a few others around $800. Maybe I'll bite. Shouldn't be hard to sell down the road if you get lucky with a 4080.

I am kind of thinking also that with crypto low prices and changing the Ethereum mining requirements. Another important thing is the FED is killing the economy to bring down inflation and everyone in general is going to be spending less. I know right now I'm not splurging on anything as I lost a lot of money in the stock market.
I think this recession will cause demand to drop big time for these expensive video cards.
That is why I would only buy a 3080 if I can get it at MSRP right now, because these prices have to come down very soon to MSRP.

All I see now of those is the 3080ti and 3090 ti for $1200 and $2000.
Seems odd that this didn't get other discussion in the past 6 hours.
