They really need to put the 400nit screen in all of these and charge $50 more.

We also have the same predicament in 2022. Can't believe that the problem persists centuries later. But least you guys have flying cars, right?
That's like 18 millennia in the future. So what I'm saying is, nope still no flying cars. Be lucky to find a hoverboard after Solar War 12

8GB (4GBx2) DDR4 3200 MHz Ram (64GB max)
That line is from the Spec section of the laptop. Hope this answer your question.
Regarding RAM upgrade, I couldn't find any service manual. I found few youtube videos, which looks like not for this model.

It is definitely an AES. EMR is very rare and mainly used in very high end devices and in Samsung devices. HP normally uses WACOM AES and MPP Pen protocol.
Depends on what you want to do with the computer. The screen is too inaccurate, makes almost no sense doing any color image editing on it. However, it'd be fine you are doing handwriting input or notes taking.

this would have been perfect if they included a pen with it. Given that pen costs $70 and that ram is 2x4GB, it might be better to hold off for now

Very good thermal management and HP pushes the CPU to its limit on this. So, performance is also on the higher side.

I would stay away from only USB-C for the charging port. This laptop has two which is better than some Lenovo's, which only have one. I get 3 to 4 laptops a month with bad USB-C ports when they're used everyday for power. They're almost always on the motherboard and not on a daughter board so when they go bad, which they will, the laptop will not power on anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love USB-C when it's used as a secondary port but not as the main power port. Plus this laptop has the charging ports on the side in the middle of the laptop, like that's a great place to put them where they won't get broken easily.
Also, I hate HP's new power button built into the keyboard, somewhere on the top roll depending on the model or layout of the keyboard. So, at night when it's dark you just have to hit a whole bunch of keys until the laptop comes on. Also, if there's every a liquid spill on the keyboard and the laptop will not turn on then it could be the keyboard but there's no easy way to tell.

I would stay away from this laptop also. The charging port are USB-C which will go bad and then you're laptop won't turn on anymore. Also, they're on the side in the middle of the laptop which is a horrible place to put them and makes them easier to break. The other 14" 2 in 1 laptops Dell sells have a power jack and a USB-C which is a lot better option. Also, if you're going to use it as a 2 in 1 then that great but if not then buy a laptop with a touchscreen. This one has a digitizer so if the screen goes bad or get broken, you'll have to replace both, which is a lot more expensive then just replacing a screen.

You have to look for the price, isn't it? Pay more and get more ram or just do it yourself in case of this laptop which will be cheaper.
Any recommendations for the ram and hdd to be upgraded on the laptop?
